I Visited UpSouth in Baner recently and came away very impressed with the experience. It’s a great spot for those who love authentic South Indian food but want it in a fast-casual, clean, and contemporary setting.
Ambience & Location: Located conveniently on Baner road, the place is easy to find with ample parking nearby. The ambience is bright, minimalistic, and clean – perfect for a quick meal or a relaxed bite with friends and family. The seating is casual but comfortable, and everything is self-service, which works well during busy hours.
Food & Taste: The menu covers all the South Indian staples – idli, dosa, vada, upma, pongal, and more – along with some fusion items like Mini Idli Chaat and Filter Coffee Smoothie which are fun to try.
Mysore Masala Dosa was crispy, generously filled, and full of flavor.
Ghee Podi Idli was a highlight – soft idlis tossed in ghee and podi powder, absolutely delicious.
Upma was fluffy and well-seasoned.
The sambar and chutneys deserve a shoutout – fresh, tasty, and served warm.
Ended the meal with their authentic filter coffee, which was strong and satisfying.
Service & Cleanliness: Since it’s a self-service model, things move fairly quickly. The staff is efficient, polite, and keep the place well-maintained. Tables were clean, food was served promptly, and even during rush hour, things were well organized.
Price Point: Reasonably priced considering the quality, portion sizes, and hygiene. Great value for money, especially if you're craving good South Indian food without breaking the bank.
Overall UpSouth Baner is a fantastic place for a quick, hearty, and authentic South Indian meal. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or a light evening snack – you’ll find satisfying options. A must-visit for fans of South Indian...

Read moreHaving visited numerous Upsouth outlets, I can confidently say that the Baner location is the best I have experienced. My affinity for their food began with a delightful encounter at their small outlet in Pune Airport, and I have been a devoted fan ever since.
What sets the Upsouth in Baner apart is its exceptional ambiance. The interior embraces the traditional South Indian Nālukettu design, reminiscent of a Tharavadu (traditional Kerala home), featuring a central Nadumuttam (courtyard open to the sky). The rustic charm is accentuated by the intentionally exposed brickwork, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.
The service is impressively fast and efficient. The staff members are exceptionally pleasant, consistently smiling while taking orders, serving food, and ensuring guests have everything they need.
As always, the food is outstanding. While slightly customized to cater to the North Indian palate, as evident in the sambhar, the ghee roast dosa remains authentically South Indian, delivering a true taste of the region.
Prices are reasonable, and the restaurant provides parking for a few cars and bikes outside, adding to the overall...
