Even one Star is too much!!
I recently visited Carmine with my team for what was supposed to be a delightful evening, but it turned out to be the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. This was particularly shocking given the restaurant’s high ratings.
We had chosen Carmine because of its reputation and had specifically requested vegetarian appetizers due to the dietary preferences of some team members. In India, many people adhere to strict vegetarian diets, and this was clearly communicated to the restaurant. Despite their assurances, we were served fish and they told us these where vegetarian dishes. This was not just a simple mistake; it was a serious violation of trust and dietary restrictions. The manager’s response was dismissive, offering a nonchalant “sorry, it happens” instead of a sincere apology. This negligence severely impacted our evening, causing significant distress among those who cannot consume non-vegetarian food for religious or personal reasons.
The buffet downstairs did nothing to redeem the evening. Many of the dishes were simply the same as the appetizers, and the remaining options were underwhelming and lackluster. The quality of the food was comparable to that of a cheap fast food joint rather than a supposedly top-tier restaurant. I was astounded by how mediocre everything tasted, especially given Carmine’s high ratings and reputation.
The service was equally abysmal. The staff seemed poorly trained and indifferent to basic service etiquette. They dumped some apetizers and bread on the table haphazardly, forcing us to distribute it ourselves. I had to open my own beer bottle, and the staff ignored basic serving protocols such as serving from the right. We constantly had to flag down waitstaff to take our drink orders, which is unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one with such a prestigious reputation.
The state of the restrooms was the final straw. They were filthy and unhygienic, reflecting a complete lack of maintenance and care. This level of cleanliness, or lack thereof, is inexcusable and only added to the overall negative experience.
When we brought these issues to the manager’s attention at checkout, he dismissed our concerns as if we were overreacting. There was no attempt to make amends or acknowledge the gravity of our complaints. This attitude only reinforced our disappointment and frustration.
In conclusion, my experience at Carmine was nothing short of a disaster. The combination of poor food quality, terrible service, and a lack of basic hygiene makes it clear that this restaurant is not deserving of its high ratings. I strongly advise against dining here—it’s a waste of money and could potentially ruin your evening, as it did ours. Save yourself the trouble and choose a...

From delectable sushi to succulent stir-fried prawns, every dish is a testament to Chef Surya's expertise and creativity. The Thai cuisine here is unparalleled, with each bite bursting with authentic flavors. However, the true star of the show is the Tom Kha soup, a heavenly concoction that is simply to die for.

Read moreThis restaurant has steadily shown decline over the years. We had a rather shocking experience with our a-la-carte order of noodles and chilli chicken around four months ago. We vowed never to return. Today we visited the restaurant again, this time settling for the buffet meal. Surprisingly, the starters were not brought to the table, you had to fetch it yourself. Then, there were no drinks or refreshments included in the package. Worst of all, the starters, which featured chicken, fish, paneer, mac-and-cheese, were ALL cold! There were two pieces each,of papri chaat kept on small bowls. That too was soggy and tasteless. There was no soup, as one would expect in a buffet. Instead, some tasteless and ancient salad, again displayed in small bowls, added to the misery of the buffet. The only thing that we got served hot was freshly ordered rotis. Request to Radisson Blu Hotel Pune Chief: If you need to close this restaurant down, it would be a good idea. Food here is served half heartedly and the ambience is dull and uninviting. The staff is doing their best, but they too seem a bit raw and not of five star hotel quality trained. It's not their fault, if the administration likes to keep them. At approximately Rs. 1600 plus taxes per head for this buffet meal, it certainly is a...
