Chandrama Bar (चंद्रमा बार) – Decent Food, Lively Ambience & Good Service 🍲🍗

I recently decided to give Chandrama Bar a try. The first impression was good—ambience is nice, with both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s clearly a popular and crowded spot, especially in the evenings, which adds to the lively vibe.

What I Tried:

Chicken Manchow Soup – Tried both chicken and veg versions. Hot, flavorful, and satisfying.

Chicken Banzara – A bit on the drier side, but taste-wise still good.

Paneer Banzara – Soft paneer with a nice spice balance, enjoyed this one.

Veg Crispy – Crunchy but average on taste, could be better seasoned.

Veg Biryani – Fragrant and nicely spiced, served hot.

Salty Fresh Lime Soda (no sugar) – Refreshing and a perfect ending to the meal.

💬 Service was polite and attentive, food arrived fairly quickly. Pricing felt fair compared to typical bar rates.

⚠️ Things to Note:

Some dishes have a lot of spring onion garnish, which might not be for everyone.

If sitting outdoors, you may have to deal with mosquitoes, especially in the late evening.

They serve halal food, which may be a plus for some.

If you're not from Pune, you might find the food here a bit unusual. While it's served hot, they seem to put spring onion on everything as a garnish, which might not be to everyone's taste. The fried rice comes with curry patta.. 🤢

The biggest downside is the mosquito problem—it's hard to enjoy your drink when you're constantly swatting them away. The place is open late, which is a plus, and they do have a TV for sports. Service was quick and decent.

However, the pricing is on the higher side. We were a group of three, had two quarters of Jameson and three starters, and ended up paying over ₹7,000, which felt excessive for a quarter-system bar.

Firstly, the service was subpar. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, resulting in long wait times for both seating and ordering. Additionally, when my order finally arrived, it was incorrect, and it took even longer to have it rectified.

Secondly, the atmosphere left much to be desired. The ambiance was lacking, with dim lighting and an overall uninviting feel. It did not match the expectations I had for a pleasant dining experience.
