Local Gastro Bar KP — Restaurant in Pune

We had a corporate team event at the venue for 35 people. Management was pathetic and they provided none of the promised services. The lady manager had at the time of booking said that if people are not able to sit in the allocated area then they can occupy other 3-4 set of tables as we are 35 people but eventually cramped all of us 35 into a seating area of hardly 15/20 people and didn’t even allow us to occupy other tables. It was a weekday - there was hardly any crowd.

The manager had said that they will arrange the main course buffer for us to have near the bar corner which was our so called designated area to sit and dine. They didn’t even set up a buffet counter instead just brought all the food and kept it in the centre tables where people were supposed to sit and eat. DJ was worse part of the night he delivered wanted as to go off the dance floor ironically there was not a dance floor even cemented dance floor that too was slippery. We were told that the playlist of pre-fixed and can’t even be changed. DJ didn’t bother to accept our song requests either.

For desserts- they had served us with some random below average local ice cream which was not even edible. After I raised a concern over its quality, then they brought out 1 single family pack of Amul Vanilla ice cream. (That too for 35 people to share). No one was there to serve the ice cream, no cups or spoon were there for icecream. The brownies were cut into smaller portions and were not even served warm.

Only 1 serving staff was assigned to handle all 35 people.

The only saviour was the veg and non veg starters. The main course served was average. They allowed us to use their mic setup for around 45 minutes and then told us that they are expecting guests anytime soon so we should stop our fun activities despite informing them in advance that we will be having some fun games of our own the whole time manager kept telling us not to utilise the common space despite the entire restaurant being empty.

Manager was only interested in money we paid and since it was already paid she did not even bother to listen to us. Never book any corporate events at this place. It’s not suitable for large gatherings. We won't recommend to anyone in our organization

A very late review but review worth the wait too.

So, went to Local Gastro Bar Hinjewadi, a newly opened location. Was supposed to be here with friends but somehow Pune rains ruined it, since I was already there thought of continuing with my plan.

In terms of ordering food and beverage ordered a Virgin Mojito Mocktail ( been a non alcoholic guy). In the food section though been a non vegetarian I can still attack the vegetarian segment too😝😝. So ordered Crispy corn, cheese corn croquettes, chicken tikka and chicken chilli all for me n for the bhukkad in me😝.

Talking about the Virgin Mojito Mocktail it was absolutely what it was suppose to be as it retained the adequate amount of required sugar syrup, crushed mint leaves n lemon. Otherwise at many places one would get Virgin Mojito either dominated sugar syrup which makes it tooo sweet or too minty or lemony taking the taste away. All kudos to the bartender

Coming to the food segment starting from the veg segment ordered crispy corn which is the perfect chakna I would say nicely fried to retain that firm crispyness. Second was cheese corn croquettes which had me by surprise, it was a perfect blend cheese and corn perfectly mixed together in right ratio perfectly coated and than deep fried and served hot which gave me melting cheese moment. Now coming to my favourite starters Non- vegetarian. Chicken tikka was super delicious with such succulent chicken pieces perfectly marinated and cooked under perfect heat which literally made them melt inside my mouth. Otherwise many a places one would see tikka pieces hanging already half cooked just waiting for customer's to order them which simply takes away the juiciness from the chicken or sometimes chicken tikka served half cooked. Second was my all time favorite chicken chili which was perfectly cooked with adequate amount of condiments and again juicy chicken here too.

Overall feedback about the food what I had was absolutely perfect. In terms of the service great.

Ambiance - 3/5 Food - 2/5 Service - 3/5 VFM - 2/5 Pros - It's a place for Dance. Cons - Confusing Happy Hours Offer and Unappetizing Food. I have visited this place 3 times and the review is a summary of it. Also, they give a discount for good Zomato reviews, so beware of many of those 4-5 star reviews.

The Ambiance is Big. There are plenty of seating choices, from bar chairs to the regular table chair, also a circular sofa for groups. They likewise have an open-air sitting which for suitable smokers. There are no dance floors as such, but plenty of space where you can shake your legs. It's good for groups who want to have a dance. It’s not so desirable for couples but could depend on individuals. The crowd is trendy here. But the air conditioning sucks. If you opt to sit on the group sofa, then be sure to feel the heat.

Let's Talk About The Food, It's the most unsatisfying thing about this place. Have it be Chicken Tikka or Chicken Chilly, it was not good. The chicken was half cooked/underdone. The Non-veg platter which cost 1200 was just having 3 variety and that to 4 pieces each. But the biggest joke was the Veg Platter. It cost 800 and was containing 1 Paneer portion and the rest was Potato, Mushroom and Baby Corn. I have attached a picture of it. None of it was tasty. We literally felt cheated. Also, Dum Biryani was ok. The thing that was good Paneer Tikka and Cheese Nacho. Truly, a disappointing outcome.

The happy hour's offer, well, it's a mixed bag. Half of the items are not part of it, some are 2+1, some are 1+1 all which create a great deal of confusion at the time of order as well as the bill. Just imagine the chaos if you are with a large group.

All in all, only be here if you want to be dancing around the trendy crowd...
