OLD SANTUSHTI FOOD PLAZA — Restaurant in Pune

This place is located inside the premises of Military Hospital near Range Hills. There's no sign board so you wont notice its there when you pass by the hospital. The look of this place is more like a road side dhaba, but with youngsters and families instead of truckers :D. Ambience is average but the food that we tried was fantastic! And pretty cheap! We tried three types of kebabs viz. Sholay, Afghani and Kalimiri and all 3 were superb! Afghani was sweet and Kalimiri and Sholay were a bit on the spicy side (they can be made spicy but we had asked them to be less spciy). Their butter chicken was also good, with nice thick gravy and good amount of chicken. Their lachcha parstha was soft with good amount of layers. All the layers were well cooked. The kebabs and butter chicken were beyond expectations in terms of quantity vs price. Popularly known as Military Canteen because it is located in Khadaki military hospital campus. Best place for non vegetarian good in reasonable price. There is waiting on Sunday evening as it opens at 7 pm. Non veg food especially Chicken tandoori, Chicken pahadi Kebab, Chicken handi are a must try. Vegetarian food is not that great. There is slight compromise to quality during rush period. If wanted to go on Sunday, reach there by 7 pm, so you can get the table, otherwise waiting is fix for at least for one and half hrs.

Amazing place with good food at amazing prices. As it is in the Military Hospital campus so cleanliness is good and taxes aren't charged. I have visited this place many times and never disappointed with the food. It's opened till 3:30 in the noon but try visiting early as after 3 you'll only get Thali dishes nothing else and please don't eat Thali. Uptill my favourites are Chicken Kali Miri Kebab, Butter Chicken (spicy), Chicken Kadhahi, Chicken Tikka Masala, Palak Paneer, Panner Handi and Garlic Naan. It's very close to Symbiosis Institute Management Studies, so you'll find a good ambience throughout the day.
