I went to si nonnas for a Friday dinner after hearing about them alot from friends and family. There weren't many people in the restaurant. Shocking as this is Friday night on FC road. But by the end of my dinner it kinda started making sense to me. Following are the things which put me off big time : We were asked to take another table because they wanted to clean (this is between 9-9:30pm). I find it very wrong for an eatery to be cooking and serving food as they clean floor simultaneously, next to people eating. It's wrong wrt hygiene and just wrong in general. The person who took our order was too pushy on buying the most expensive veg pizza on the menu with burrata extra topic (200rs extra). I understand the burrata might be their speciality. But any other pizza we wanted to try, the person who speak against of it. "Sourdough k saath tomato sauce will be sour with sour so don't take this one" "This one has no toppings as such so better take this one (the expensive one)" When I got annoyed and decided to not take what he's telling us to, because he's being so pushy, he said "this has mushroom and will be watery on the base" I went with it nonetheless because usually I do go with what they recommend but this whole this was ichy. The mushroom pizza had near to no slat in it. Let down because atleast for basic taste you need some salt to get the taste. I had ordered an extra topping of 3 chilli. Which they didn't give us. My friend asked if they have put the extra topping on the pizza, the person looked and then went to get us the topping later. Had we not asked? The serving time : we're told 5-15 minutes. My pizza came around 40 minutes later to placing the order. Meanwhile around 7-10 takeaway pizzas went. Idk if it's wrong to expect the in-store customers to be prioritised especially when there are only 2 tables occupied. It's a put off nonetheless.
All in all i want the team of si nonnas to take this seriously and if you don't have good pizzas on your menu and only one is good, than please consider revising the menu, so people will have more options to choose from. And if your pizzas are good apart from the one that we were being pushed to order, than please ask your staff to do right by it. I have heard that the sourdough base and the tomato base sauce are 2 of the three USPs of si nonnas. Then why is your staff speaking ill of it? FC road branch is your first in Pune and maybe this review should urge you to look into why're the walk-ins less on a Friday night.
Our bill was 1.8k and we walked out sulking. Money would not be an issue if the ambience, service and food was satisfying.
After this experience, no matter my friends have different, good experience, I'd not want to give it a chance given that in my head most pizzas aren't told to me good. And I do not...

I was thrilled to be invited for a tasting here, being a huge fan of sourdough breads. They exceeded my expectations with their superb sourdough pizzas, refreshing beverages, and delightful desserts.
The ambiance is warm, cozy, yet very lively. The welcoming staff showed us around, talking about the sourdough starter (Mumma Dough), and how pizzas are made using the finest ingredients from Italy. They explained how their pizzas are uniquely crafted in their open and live pizza counter. Experience the pizzas coming to life before your eyes—from dough rolling to wood-fired perfection in no time.
What we feasted on?
*Focaccia with Tomato & Mozzarella was a delight! The bread was perfectly soft, and the combination of fresh tomatoes and gooey mozzarella created a burst of flavor in every bite. A simple yet satisfying treat for any cheese and bread lover.
*Half n Half Chicken & Mushroom Pizza exceeded expectations! The savory chicken and earthy mushrooms on a sourdough base made each slice a delicious adventure. Its soft texture made it easy on the stomach, offering a satisfying experience.
*Pesto, Cheese & Tomato Fried Calzone, The crispy exterior complemented the rich flavors of pesto, cheese, and tomatoes, creating a tasty combination. Surprisingly, it wasn't oily despite being deep-fried, making it a must-try dish without the greasy aftermath.
*Sumac garlic yogurt dip was the star of our dinning experience.
We ended the lunch with super tasty, creamy Tiramisu and Pannacotta with Blueberries.

Read moreI recently discovered a remarkable pizzeria that transported me straight to the cobblestone streets of Italy without leaving Pune. This extraordinary establishment specializes in authentic Italian sourdough pizza, masterfully crafted with the finest fresh ingredients while incorporating delightful Indian flavor profiles that create a truly unique culinary experience.
The centerpiece of my visit was their exceptional fourth signature pizza—a symphony of premium cheeses including creamy fior di latte mozzarella, rich ricotta, bold blue cheese, and aged Parmigiano-Reggiano. This luxurious foundation was elevated by their house-made jalapeño salsa and cherry tomato confit, finished with aromatic fresh basil and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Each bite delivered an perfect harmony of traditional Italian techniques and innovative local touches.
To complement this culinary masterpiece, we savored refreshing peach iced tea that provided a delightful contrast to the rich flavors of the pizza. The meal concluded on a sublime note with their exquisite tiramisu—a dessert that would make any Italian nonna proud.
What truly sets this establishment apart is its breathtaking ambiance. The restaurant has created an enchanting botanical oasis, with lush greenery thoughtfully integrated throughout the space. This nature-inspired design creates an incredibly cozy and inviting atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and organic—something genuinely unique in Pune's dining landscape.
