Desi Urban Chai — Restaurant in Punjab

I recently visited Desi Urban Chai franchise at Mohali 3B2, lured by their promise of unique and flavorful chai. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. This comes from an avid due hard tea lover.

First and foremost, the adrak chai was a letdown. It lacked any noticeable adrak flavor, tasting just like a regular chai. For a place that markets itself as offering premium, flavor-infused teas, this was a major disappointment.

Adding to the unpleasant experience, the uncle at the counter was exceptionally rude. Instead of the warm, friendly service one expects at a chai shop, I was met with impatience and dismissiveness.

Overall, Desi Urban Chai seems to be just another copycat selling regular chai at a premium price under the guise of offering something special. Save your money and time—there are far better places to enjoy a good...

Desi Urban Chai is a small eatery amongst other chai bars that have cropped up in many parts of the country offering variety of fast food with specialising in Chai, as the name of the shop suggests. We tried variety of chai offered by them, however we liked Pan and Rose flavoured chai the best. I would recommend it for others to try it. Chai is offered in kulhad, which serves an aesthetic purpose for people to flaunt on social media platforms. We also tried maggi once, which was basic/average at best. Staff here is cordial, however sometimes they struggle to keep up with the swarm of crowd thronging to try their offerings. Seating is scanty, you may have to stand and savour the tea. This is a good place to spend time with friends. The atmosphere is very lively and the place is quite happening at evening and night.

At night the market is full with young peeps and it makes the place crowded but it adds to the vibe as well. They offer good chai coffee and snacks and the prices are not too high. You can get good food options in rs 200 as well. As normal adrak chai starts from 15 rs which is a medium sized cup. Try their muska bun it is very tasty. They need to work on their customer service as sometimes when it's crowded the staff may behave rudely with you. Overall it is a good place especially for tea (chai) and coffee.
