DoubleShot Coffee Roasters Mohali — Restaurant in Punjab

I visited Double Shot Coffee Roaster in Mohali with a group of friends on the evening of April 8, 2025, around 7:30 PM. We ordered food, drinks, and a sandwich. After placing our order, we spent time chatting, but after about 20 minutes, we noticed that our order hadn't arrived yet. We called the waiter to check on it, and he told us it was still being prepared and would be ready in just a few minutes.

As we continued to chat, another 10 minutes passed, and we asked again. This time, the waiter asked us to repeat the order because he had forgotten to write it down! Naturally, we were frustrated, but we remained calm as he apologized. Still, it took another 15 minutes for our order to arrive, and during that time, we had to ask multiple times if our order was ready, with the same response: "It’s still in making."

What made the situation even more frustrating was that a person who had arrived after us received their order before we did. This added to our growing frustration and made it clear that the service was disorganized and poorly managed.

By the end of the evening, all of us were quite upset, especially since one of my friends, who had been a regular customer, was also disappointed by the experience. For a place with such potential, the unprofessionalism of the staff was disappointing. The staff seemed poorly trained, and their lack of attention to detail and slow service was unacceptable.

It’s clear that management needs to reevaluate both staff training and operations. Unfortunately, this will be the first and last time I visit Double Shot Coffee Roaster. I had a recent meal at this joint and it’s great to see many new coffee places coming up even in Mohali for the casual hangouts. It was brimming with people even on a working day and we were able to chance upon a little table to ourselves too. The food options are quite limited I must say with mostly sandwiches to order and bakery products for the sweet accompaniment. The paneer makhani sandwich that I ultimately tried was quite basic though delicious.

Coming to the beverages- I liked the peach lemon cold brew a lot. They have quite many options to choose from even a spicy brew which I might try in my next visit. The cold coffee was nice too however the lemonade left much to be desired and can be definitely improved.

Regarding the service I found a lot can be refined since the staff seemed overwhelmed with the crowd and multiple orders placed at once. I had to ask for cutlery twice and surprisingly no eating plates were provided before the order arrived. This is the most basic expectation a customer can have from a hospitality service and the sheer disregard for it for whatever reason isn’t something of a good impression. We’re regular visitors to this café and have always loved their coffee and sandwiches—especially the Avocado Toast, Cucumber Creamcheese Bagel, and Tomato & Cheese Grilled Sandwich. Unfortunately, our experience on 18th September was disappointing. The food took over 40 minutes to arrive, and the coffee came 15 minutes later—after we had already finished eating.

Here’s a breakdown of what we ordered and how it went:

Tomato & Cheese Sandwich: Arrived after 30–35 minutes. Still tasted delicious, as expected.

2x Avocado Toast: Also came after 30–35 minutes. The pesto was extremely sour, close to being spoiled, so we could only consume about 60% of it. Iced Latte: Delivered after 45–50 minutes. Shockingly, the glass had a very noticeable lipstick stain—clearly marking the full lower lip of a previous customer—indicating it hadn’t been cleaned properly. Ended up returning and cancelling this order. Frappe: Took nearly 45–50 minutes to arrive. For a café, basic coffee drinks shouldn’t take so long. We’ve always preferred this place over bigger coffee chains, but today was upsetting—with both food quality and service standards...
