McDonald's — Restaurant in Punjab

Visited July 29, 2025 – Day 26 in India.

Throughout our travels in India, it was often difficult for our daughters, aged 5 and 7, to find food they enjoyed. Many restaurants did not allow outside food, which made things harder. In Amritsar, we were relieved to come across a helpful solution.

Right above McDonald's was Swagath restaurant, and they kindly allowed us to sit and eat there even though we were bringing in food for the kids. We placed an order downstairs at McDonald's for a Filet O Fish for our 7 year old and a Happy Meal for our 5 year old, and informed our driver.

A thoughtful staff member from Swagath personally brought the food upstairs to us. Thanks to them, our kids were able to enjoy a meal they liked, and we could finally relax and enjoy ours too.

Later that evening we went to another restaurant for Fish Amritsari, but again our kids did not enjoy it. Our driver took us right back to McDonald's, and the girls were happy to get something they loved.

Worst McDonald's Experience Ever!

I can't believe the way they treated their customers. I showed them the offer from the McDonald's app, but they refused to apply it for me and instead instructed me to use the kiosk. I followed their advice, but the kiosk wouldn't accept the offer for me, even though it worked for another customer. Interestingly, the Manager applied the code for a different customer at the counter, but when it was my turn, they denied doing the same, saying, "We won't do it here at the counter."

After struggling for 15 minutes and attempting to use the kiosk three times, I approached the counter staff and the manager once more. Their response was, "Try doing it on the kiosk yourself. If it's not working, figure out what to do on your own." Their tone remained rude throughout our conversation. To make matters worse, they added, "If you want something else, go ahead and order it. We're not going to do it for you."

I urge the McDonald's team to address this issue. I have never encountered such disappointing customer service that can ruin an experience...

Disappointing Experience with Mr. Iqbal Singh at McDonald's*

I recently visited the McDonald's location at Ranjeet avenue b block and had a frustrating experience with Mr. Iqbal Singh, one of the staff members. I waited for 7-10 minutes at the cash counter to place my order and make payment.

Despite repeatedly calling out to Mr. Iqbal Singh, he seemed completely disinterested in attending to me. He was distracted, constantly looking around, and ignored me multiple times. It was as if I was invisible!

As a customer, it's disheartening to experience such poor service. The lack of attention and courtesy from Mr. Iqbal Singh made my visit unpleasant. I hope McDonald's takes necessary steps to train their staff to provide better customer service.
