Pathetic. Horrible experience. I have never seen such a third-class restaurant. Here I am sharing my experiences: I ordered for 2 fish thalis and 1 mutton thali for myself and family. But what we got ! RICE : The quantity of which can only satisfy a child. For extra rice, they charge Rs.110/- per small plate. God knows, after an hour long bath in the sea, how many such plates will be required for an adult. PULAO : A plate of deep yellow rice can easily beat the sweetness of sugar. VEGETABLES : In place of seasonal vegetables, only aloo bhaja had been served. SHUKTO : Hardly we could find any vegetable there. FISH : Two different fishes. Served in two plates. The gravies of which were same and totally bitter in taste. MUTTON : Was not bad. But I am not telling that it was good in taste. RASOGOLLA : I could not think of such a cold hard rasogolla. Might be it was preserved in refrigerator for a couple of days. PAN : An old aged dry pan had been given. BOWL : Thanks to them for collecting such a size of bowl they use to serve vegetables/dal to the customers. Usually in most of the families it is being used to serve only CHATNI.
In my opinion, any goomty available at sea side can give you better satisfaction than this one. Think twice before going to them because they are sitting here only to cut your pockets. They don’t bother about the service and quality of food. But charge exorbitantly.
One more thing I want to say. When the bill was given to me I found a price hike of Rs.25/- to Rs.30/- on every item compared to the price mentioned on the menu cards available on the table. They didn’t bother to tell me about this at the time of...
Read moreWent there for lunch on a Tuesday in the third week of the scorching heat of June. We reached at around 1:15 and had to wait for approx 5-7 mins to get a table. The restaurant was completely occupied and the staff were very busy. Though there were 4 AC’s which appeared to be running, it was pretty hot inside as all the AC’s were attached to one side of the restaurant. We had placed our order for a mutton thali, ilish thali, dub chingri and some soft drinks. We were mostly disappointed with the taste of the food. The dub chingri was the most disappointing part, and didn’t taste like what it should. The mutton was very chewy and not cooked well. The ilish was somewhat good with the size and the quality of the ilish being good and not the preparation. Among other items on the thali, there were small portions of rice and polao which was too sweet to taste. The shukto , daal and aloo bhaja was satisfactory. There was chatni, papad, rosogolla and paan. They could not provide cold water even though the weather was hot and humid outside. The soft drink never arrived. We asked for the bill and the staff brought the bill with the soft drink already billed. When asked, the rude staff argued that we have to ask for it, otherwise, we would not get it. He was adamant in his view and not once seemed apologetic about the fact that they have forgotten to give it to us and made a mistake. The rude behaviour of the staff, their dishonesty and the poor to average taste of the food is reason enough for me not to recommend this place to anybody. There are a lot of better places around to eat. I regret my decision to take my family for lunch...
Read moreWell known restaurant chain of Kolkata is in Puri , odisha now. What should I say new about them. Fried foods like fish fry, kobiraji etc. were delicious like Kolkata outlet. Rest they have so many extra items than Kolkata. They have thalis , Veg thali, chicken thali, fish thalis, mutton thalis etc. as well as Indian foods they have and Chinese items also they serve.
Personally we have consumed fried item , thalis, Indian , and Chinese items also. And all of the items were delicious.
We ordered fish fry & chicken cutlet on the first day and they were so awesome, then we ordered mutton & chicken thalis, thalis were but so great but i would recommend it of course. In this thalis they offer 9 items - rice, polao, alu bhaja, sukto, daal, mutton / chicken, chatni, papad & rosogolla. The quantity of the foods were not that impressive but sufficient for a person, but if you are a little foody then you may be disappointed. The rest of the items were delicious as I already mentioned.
The staff were well mannered and the ambiance was very colourful & nice looking. Service is a bit slow , especially if you are ordering Chinese items. They take more than 40mins to deliver.
Well over all it was a nice experience for me & my family. Moreover, we felt a homely atmosphere in the restaurant.
I would definitely recommend people that if you r planning to visit puri or you r in Puri ,never forget to...
