Came from Pune to explore Udaipur. After shopping at Hathipol were craving for food (lunch) and were very hungry. Kanak dining hall offered best HOMELY food.
All items were Non spicy. But not very sweet either. And had authentic rajasthani touch.
Phulka roti were served hot and soft (could break with just 3 fingers) ♥️.
Baati was very soft, fully cooked, grainy texture like we make at home. Dal baati was best. I would suggest eat dal baati towards the mid or end of your dinner, else your stomach will feel full faster.
Chilli+besan (gram flour) and other similar side items were also very good.
4 vegetables were given - Potato+peas, Black channa, Capsicum+sweetcorn+tomato Mutter(green peas) Paneer
Curd with cucumber onion tomato (koshimbir) Gulabjamun. Red & green chutney. Papad. All was unlimited, eat till your stomach is full 😋
Simple thali without dal baati - 180rs With sweet - 200rs With sweet and dal baati - 250 rs.
We took the 250 rs thali. You can skip the sweet if you want.
Place is small can fit 4 people on 1 table. Around 6-7 tables were there. Place is clean. Looks hygienic. Has girls and boys...
Read moreKanak Dining hall is a small restaurant near Hathipol in Udaipur which serves only veg thali for near Rs 130 in which you can have chapati and Vegetables and rice are unlimited but Chaas and sweet are served only one time in limited quantities. The menu has daal, 3 seasonal vegetables, chapatis, Chaas and Rice and one more dish along with chutines and Salad. The food quality is satisfactory and tasteof many dishes is also good, but I wanna say that taste could have been better of some dishes and there is a scope of improvement in menu too.. one thing I really liked was their service, it was quick and the waiters were polite and friendly. For Rs 130 for a thali it was a good option to have thali here..The restaurant interior was not so fancy but the seating was properly managed..It is a casual place and good...
Read moreThis place is hidden in one of the nooks at Hathipole shopping area. I used google maps for guidance. My family was hungry after all the shopping at noon. The waiters and the owners welcomed us like family and made available a table. We had unlimited thali, the food spread was vast. The food was tasty and does not feel full even after consuming 6-7 butter coated tawa rotis, lots of different sabjis and rice/dal. The papads are worth trying. The gulab jamoons are great as a finishing up sweet. The waiters keep requesting you to have more. The owners ask every customer for feedback which even expensive restaurant at star hotels don't. These guys know what hospitality is.
I will sincerely recommend this place to anyone. I will...
