Timeless taste, iconic kachoris, and desi mithai charm — a must-visit for every food lover in Udaipur.
Original JMB in Bapu Bazar, Udaipur, is not just a sweet shop — it’s an experience. I went there after hearing so much about its legendary onion kachoris, and I was not disappointed. The first bite of that crisp, flaky kachori filled with spicy onion masala was enough to understand why locals swear by it.
It’s an old-school setup — nothing fancy, no fine dining vibes — but the flavors are unmatched. I also tried their moong dal halwa, malai ghewar, and mawa kachori — each one rich, fresh, and bursting with traditional taste. You can sense the purity of ingredients and years of consistent quality.
The shop is almost always busy, but the staff handles the crowd efficiently. Service is quick, and the pricing is reasonable — perfect for a casual snack or sweet craving. Their sweets counter has a wide range from barfis to ladoos, and during festivals, it becomes a bustling hotspot.
On the flip side, the place could use some improvements in terms of hygiene and seating comfort. It's more of a stand-and-eat setup, which may not appeal to everyone.
In summary: If you love authentic Rajasthani flavors and don’t mind a simple, no-frills environment, JMB is a gem. Go for the kachoris, stay for the sweets, and you’ll walk out with a smile — and maybe a box of...
Read moreJODHPUR Misthan Bhandar (JMB) is a well-known sweet and snack shop in Udaipur, often visited by celebrities and tourists. However, my experience here was a mix of both good and bad. While we tried Pyaaz Kachori, Mirchi Vada, Dhokla, and Rabri Malpua, only the Rabri Malpua stood out with its rich flavor and perfect texture. The Pyaaz Kachori and Mirchi Vada were disappointing, lacking authentic Rajasthani taste, and the Ghewar was overly sweet and dry. A major concern was the lack of hygiene. Drinking water was just regular tap water, and the seating arrangements were inadequate. Such a popular spot should ensure cleanliness and better customer experience. I also bought one kilogram of Gujiya, expecting great quality, but the taste was terrible, with an unpleasant smell of old or reused ghee. Given the high prices, this was a huge disappointment. With JMB’s reputation, it has the potential to serve top-quality food, but without improvements in freshness, hygiene, and fair pricing, it doesn’t justify its fame. If you visit, Rabri Malpua is worth trying, but for other snacks, better options are...
Read moreJodhpur Misthan Bhandar (JMB) is an absolute gem when it comes to indulging in traditional Indian sweets and snacks. I recently had the pleasure of trying their Ghevar and Pyas Kachori, and I must say, I was blown away by the authenticity and deliciousness of both treats. The Ghevar had the perfect balance of sweetness and richness, with its delicate layers and syrupy goodness making each bite a heavenly experience. As for the Pyas Kachori, it was a flavor explosion in every bite – the crispy exterior giving way to a savory filling bursting with spices and flavors that tantalized my taste buds. What truly sets JMB apart is not just the quality of their products but also the warmth and hospitality of their staff. Every visit feels like a journey through the culinary delights of Rajasthan, thanks to the passion and dedication of the team at Jodhpur Misthan Bhandar. Whether you're craving a sweet indulgence or a savory delight, JMB is the place to go for an authentic taste of India's...
