TL;DR If you want a hassle-free, relaxed holiday, don’t book with Oru Pools. They really ruined the mood at my friend’s bachelorette.
We booked a property in Goa for a group of girls via Oru Pools. Right after booking, someone from their team shared the location in Porvorim. Then after a few days, we received a different location link for somewhere in Anjuna from another member of their team. We even confirmed whether the Anjuna location was accurate - and THEY SAID YES!! So, we assumed that the villa is closer to all the action. We planned our logistics accordingly.
Cut to us reaching Anjuna, we find out that there is no property there. We called the original person we had booked with and they shared the old location in Porvorim. When we asked why we were sent DIFFERENT links, they acknowledged that their team messed up. But kept harping on the fact that we should have just followed the original location. To this, we said - A. We never reached out to the new team member that sent us the wrong location. B. The team member sending us the updated location confirmed MULTIPLE times that this was the right place, so we made all our bookings accordingly. C. This location issue sounded fishy from the beginning, so we had also asked them why the updated location is so far away from the area marked in Airbnb. Their response at the time was “The name has been updated but Airbnb isn’t allowing us to updated the link.” Random BS, IMO. Their ONLY rebuttal to all of this was that multiple people from our group were co-ordinating with them. I don’t see how that should affect the location details shared with us. If Oru’s team was even slightly well-trained, they would not share misleading information with ANY customer or group of customers.
Until here, you can say both parties could’ve done a better job - WE should have verified the location again, and ORU Pools should not have goofed up, given that this is their core business and treating customers like this is a really terrible way to run an operation.
Now, here’s where it gets really annoying. We were constantly calling the original person from Oru whom we had booked with, and they had no empathy for anything we’ve been through. They first claimed that we should not have gone to the updated location in Anjuna; so it’s obviously “our fault”. After telling them REPEATEDLY that WE received a message from their team with the updated location, they were quite insensitive to the fact that we were stranded at a random location with no network. We then asked them for some sort of discount (preferably in the amount of the difference in the cabs we’d have to pay per day). They flatly refused and instead offered a 2K discount which isn’t even 5% of the booking amount, but whatever, we begrudgingly accepted. As a “token”, they tried to offer us complimentary breakfast, which was already included in our package, so that was quite a foolish move on their part. Then they agreed on including high tea for 2 nights. We said fine - conversation over! We’d paid a 50% advance at the time of booking and cleared the remaining 50% on day 1 itself.
The next morning we all step down for breakfast and the person managing the villa says “I’ve been told not to serve breakfast to you, only high tea.” This is where we completely lost it! We had to call the Oru team again to get this resolved, and then we were asked to directly contact the host for any “service related” items. And this is just day 2 of our trip.
I would personally recommend AGAINST booking with them. It’s not a smooth experience, you have to jump through a lot of hoops and it’s frankly just not worth your coin. You’ll get MUCH better managed and well-located properties on Airbnb or Booking.com, so don’t go through the stress of dealing with Oru’s poor management. All said and done, the villa was nice - as described in the photos, it just wasn’t where we expected it to be! And interfacing with their team was harrowing, annoying and an absolute waste of our time and energy. 0/10, please don’t book...
Read moreWe had booked our stay (7 bhk villa) last year in Sept 2022 but due to a friend's surgery, after checking with the manager for extension, we postponed our trip. We were happy that the villa has given us extension for 6 months.
So finally we planned our Trip in March & informed the villa in Jan/ Feb itself. Before 4 days of our arrival, when I messaged on their Insta page regarding location, the manager messaged my friend saying that the villa was not available due to some "operational issues".
Instead of 1 villa which was 7 BHK, he offered us with 2 choices:
So now, just before 4 days to our 1 night 2 days trip to Udaipur, we were given these 2 choices by the manager.
My issues:
All the discussions with friends lead to finally go ahead with 8 people for the trip due to last minute change of the villa. We chose the 5bhk villa Now the real problem:
Once we confirmed for 5bhk villa, we were told that the pool will be given to us for use by 4 pm because there is already 1 party planned. So now again this lead to lot of discussion among friends as we were going only for 1 night so we planned to reach by 11.30 am/ 12 pm and now we we were told that we will get pool by 4.
We were offered a lesser tariff i.e. Rs. 18k instead of 21k or late checkout i.e. 3 pm instead of 12 pm. We chose lesser tariff option
On call before going, I just asked manager that will we get pool by 4 or 4.30 or 5 pm because I would inform friends accordingly. The manager became very rude & told me that he cannot takeout his guests from pool as he has given commitment- Did I say to take them out of pool? I just asked regarding timing so that my friends would plan games/ fun/ tp in pool accordingly.
The manager kept saying I was rude & he has got hurt due to my words/ behaviour and I am still clueless that where was I at fault here? He/ his team/ Oru Villa couldn't offer the villa to us on the approved/ final dates. From 14 people to only 8 of us went because of so many changes by the villa's team so if I am calling him to confirm things then how come I was at fault? I never spoke rudely or in high tone or did not abuse & it was vice versa.
The manager did not have patience (major skillset in hospitality industry), did not have planning skills, was not transparent in communication so how come I was at fault?
I told him that we have made booking since long & have paid 10k advance that's why we are coming. To which he bluntly told that he will refund amt. (he is not at all bothered of losing customers).
My friend who had done booking told me to go ahead with the plan as now 8 of us were ready & so he only spoke to the manager that we are coming and booking was confirmed.
Coming to the property, it was great in terms of hospitality & service. The staff was very polite & courteous. Rooms were very neat & cottages were spacious. Washrooms had bad smell constantly.
Food was decent not great. We paid Rs. 350 per person for a fixed unlimited menu which was served to us after we selected our...

Dear Oru Villas
We have Stayed in your Bagh Haveli villa for 3days.
As We arrive Mr. Prithvi Singh is there to receive us, But as we stay before in any resort or villa staff welcomes us with welcome drink or water, as we are travelling from very long distance, he should ask us for water first, instead of after few min he asked us for remaining amount. After 12 hours of journey we reached there and want to take shower but there was not towels or any toiletries in rooms. When we asked for that they replied towels are in laundry we don't have any extra towels after shouting many times they gave towels and toiletries at 5 in evening. Very Unprofessional behaviour.
Sorry to say but it was not what we expect. very first morning breakfast was very bad. they serve us uncooked idli's, Butter sandwich the bread was stale and it was not butter for sure The only thing was good is parathas. Next day poha was totally dried and tasteless. we ask for jam and he said we don't have jam in stock we have booked the villa before a month they should maintain stock for the guests. kitchen was messy and very untidy water filter was not working after so many times asking for water they give us water. Service was totally worst.
on second day after noon there was heavy rain so water comes in room form doors and windows so one of our extra mattress was wet so i went to your store room for asking mattress they all are sleeping i told one attendant and tell him to give me a mattress but he fell sleep again, after waiting for 15 minutes i went there again and i told him for mattress after that he provided a mattress.
There was also one headache for us is your entry gate which they closed 11 pm. Every time when we went outside or coming from outside we have to make him a call and wait till 10 minutes to open a gate.
Overall experience was pathetic and we are totally disappointed with service and taste of food.
What you are showing on social media is far away from reality. After spending 70k what we got? It's not a small amount. We came there to spend quality time and relax but we didn't come out from this all problems.
Sorry to say but we will not recommend any of your...
