Tathasthu Jaisalmer: Breathtaking Views Marred by Mediocre Food (Skip the Meal, Savor the Scenery)

Tathastu in promises a magical experience with its lakeside location. However, my recent visit revealed a disconnect between the stunning ambiance and the food quality.

Tathastu's true strength lies in its scenic beauty. The location by the lake creates a picturesque setting, perfect for a relaxing escape. The clean washrooms are another plus.

A Letdown on the Plate:

Unfortunately, the food quality falls short of the visual appeal. Here's a breakdown of what we tried:

Kitkat Shake: This beverage was a disappointment, essentially flavored milk with no discernible Kitkat taste. Iced Tea: The wait time of 40 minutes for iced tea is simply unacceptable, especially considering it wasn't anything special. Garlic Bread: This was just average, failing to leave a lasting impression. Fried Rice: Similar to the other dishes, the fried rice was just okay, lacking the flavors you'd expect. Overhype Doesn't Deliver:

The overall impression is that Tathasthu relies too heavily on its scenic location. The food quality and service need significant improvement to live up to the hype.

Recommendation:

If you're craving a visually stunning spot to relax and enjoy the Aisalmer scenery, Tathastu might be worth a visit. However, go in with the expectation of enjoying the ambiance over the food. For a satisfying meal, you'd be better off exploring other restaurants in Jaisalmer. Bill was 1600/- for 3, with is bit pricey, and doesn't justify the experience we had

Tathastu Cafe, located near the iconic Gadisar Lake in Jaisalmer, is a hidden gem that perfectly blends a serene ambiance with modern comfort. The cafe's location is truly picturesque, offering beautiful views that make it an ideal spot for relaxing and unwinding after exploring the city.

One of the highlights of Tathastu is its air-conditioned indoor seating, a much-needed respite from the scorching desert heat. The decor complements the serene vibe, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal or just sip on a refreshing drink.

While the food was average in taste, the starters definitely stood out and were more enjoyable. It’s a great place for a quick bite rather than a full meal if you're prioritizing taste.

Another charming feature of the area is the small market nearby, filled with souvenir shops offering local handicrafts at reasonable prices. Additionally, there are photographers available who capture amazing clicks at surprisingly low costs, adding to the overall experience.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tathastu and I must say, it was an incredible experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the exceptional service of Mr. Ali, who truly went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was top-notch.

Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but Mr. Ali's hospitality was truly remarkable. He was attentive, friendly, and made me feel like a VIP guest throughout the entire meal. He even offered suggestions on what to order, which I really appreciated.

The ambiance of the restaurant was also impressive, with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere that made me feel relaxed and at ease. The attention to detail in the decor and presentation of the food was also notable.
