Zoya Ka Zayeka-Jaisalmer Restaurant — Restaurant in Rajasthan

Had one of the best experience at Zoya Ka Zayeka. If you want to have a family like local food, you should definitely go here as the experience here is very authentic. We had a chance to meet the owner Shan, His wife and little Zoya who the restaurant is named after. Even though restaurant was closed for the renovation for the day, since we already got to the restaurant, they cooked excellent food for us in short time. When asked to join us on a conversation about Jaisalmer as we are tourists here, Shan(owner) was quick to sit down with us and explain us everything about the area and both Shan, His wife and Zoya treated us like family. They even offered to drop us at our hotel at the end of the night as it got late to find auto/taxi. I would highly recommend this place for a truly unique experience with view of the fort and a open terrace to stare at the moon same time. Lastly, Shan also helped us book a desert safari with a resort for a very good price and when mentioned the price to our hotel receptionist, they were surprised with the package and the price as it was inclusive of Jeep Safari in San Dunes, Camel Ride to watch Sunset and celebrity Queen...

I visited this place 2 weeks back with my cousins. And I want to make sure that this place gets its honest reviews. It was the last day of our trip and our booking at the hotel was over we had a cab in which we had our luggage and our shopping was almost done. Since the rain started to drizzle all of a sudden we wanted to take shelter and sit and relax from our tiring day. That's when we saw The Thar Cafe Restaurant right opposite to the fort. We ordered few cups of chai and snacks and must say the service was indeed quick and also clean. The seating was very homely and colorful with a beautiful view of the fort and the blueish grey sky with music being played behind. I felt I was at someone's terrace. I must say that we needed that time to just relax, chitchat and enjoy the evening since our train was to depart at night. So we asked the owners if we could spend some more time than the usual and they were so kind and so friendly and allowed us to stay a bit longer. The kids were tired of the roti-subzi meals and hence we were looking for a place for light meal. It wasnt a wrong choice at all when we decided to try out Zoya's. We tried out Chilli Potato, Haakka Noodles, n Grill sandwich. The kids prefer non spicy, n Pooja the owner was more than accommodating to ensure the kids get as per their liking. Chilly Potato is very tasty dish but the dish of the day for us was the Grill Sandwich. A simple tomato, cucumber, cheese sandwich toasted on tawa but yet was extremely delicious. We had ordered one to share but then ended up ordering one for each since everyone liked it so much.
