During my visit to Jaisalmer in March this year, I walked a lot to feel the vibes of the city and got tired hence hungry quicker than usual. The tour guide recommended the Chandan Sri Hotel that is right in front of the Jaisalmer Golden Fort. They had a sweet shop on the ground floor and a dining hall on the upper floor.
The sitting arrangement was retro with all-wooden tables and chairs. The main attraction was self-service racks from which one could take the necessary dishes, paper napkins, spoons, and cutlery as required.
The food was served at the table and the service was prompt and quick. They have an elaborate menu. I chose the Veg Thali which was unlimited and had 2 vegetables and one Daal with rice and unlimited rotis + a choice of dessert from Rasgulla or Gulab Jamun.
The best part was the limited and clutter-free Thali at nominal rates that were well-suited for a quick bite and get back on the road again. ♿ Accessibility Features: No=Ramp access. Read moreI walked in this restaurant around 6 pm. Sunday 17th first day of the Desert Festival! I was welcomed by a waiter... I asked for the menu and I was handed the thing with a bad attitude!. I asked for Dosa Masala that is supposed to be the less spicy meal on the menu. "No we can't. Breakfast!" I approached a couple of Indian eating and asked for what could I choose that is not so spicy? They recommended something. I went to the waiter or manager to ask. I was brush off again: No we don't have.. I asked if there was anything without Spice Answer was brutal: no. The Indian couple and a police woman present were surprised. I put back the menu and left having regretted not having taken the picture of this horrible young man! This restaurant was recommended to me by my Hostel, Jaisalmer CROWD hostel. The owner of the hostel is very upset and will soon pay the restaurant a visit! The image of the whole town is in your...
Read moreI had a very bad experience at Chandan Street Restaurant. The service was terrible – the staff took too long to take orders and didn’t seem interested in helping customers. They were not polite and didn’t care about customer needs. The food was even worse. It did not taste good at all, and it seemed like it was not fresh. The presentation of the food was poor, and it felt like no effort was made to prepare it well. The restaurant itself was not clean, and the whole atmosphere felt unpleasant. Overall, I was very disappointed. The management needs to improve the quality of food, train the staff to be more polite and quick, and make the restaurant a better place to visit. I would not recommend this place to anyone until these...
