I am a proper South Indian from Bangalore and a proper South Indian foodie, so i think i am eligible to write my honest review about this restaurant and their food.
Overall feedback- This restaurant has the name Madras Hotel but nothing to do with Madras or South India. Over pricing, bad customer service, uneducated staffs and bad quality of food, One masala dosa, one plate curd rice with 3 extra spoons of curd costed Rs.315. Don't ever go to eat here. They'll loot u. This place is spoiling the name n authenticity of south Indian food. If possible prepare good south Indian food, if not, shut it out n do something else.
DETAILED FEEDBACK
Pros - Only Dosa was good, curd was good Cons - Chutney was horrible. Can't even feel like having it with Dosa. Very highly priced. Its not a star hotel or great ambience. They charged 40 bucks for Three spoons of extra curd. I love Curd rice. So, I ordered it. Specifically told them to mix plain curd with plain white rice. What i received was something horrible. More than 40 pieces of sliced chillies, crated ginger couldn't even count them, and completely sprinkled with a kind of chat masala. I was wondering where is the curd rice. The ginger n chillies were so much, that you cannot feel the curd rice. (check the images) Every serving had atleast 2 chillies n 4 pieces of ginger in my mouth. I couldn't even eat half. I requested the waiter to get me plain curd, n he got 3 spoons of plain curd in a small cup n charged 40 bucks for it. This is sheer looting. Cleanliness can be improved. It was stinking outside the restaurant.
Staffs : Staffs were horrible as don't know anything apart from Hindi. I m not expecting them to speak Tamil, Kannada or Telugu. They can't even speak English, forget speaking, they can't even understand English. I tried to give the same feedback to them on their face, the guy in the reception told that no one knows English there. So anyone who can translate this to hindi can do so n inform them so that whatever i have written here is understood by them. Even though i m not a Pro like u guys in Hindi, but can understand well. The lady at the reception told the cooks that he didn't like curd rice, one of the cooks there passed a stupid comment on me. This shows how cheap you ppl are. Shame...
