Akshaya Bhavan — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

My recent experience at the akshaya bhavan left me with mixed feelings. While the food quality was commendable, I believe there is room for improvement in terms of the ambience, particularly during the summer season.

Let's start with the positives—the food quality exceeded my expectations. The dishes were well-prepared, flavorful, and showcased the culinary skills of the chef. The menu offered a diverse range of options, catering to various tastes and dietary preferences. I thoroughly enjoyed the flavors and presentation of the food, and it was undoubtedly the highlight of my visit.

However, I must address the issue with the ambience. During the summer, it was quite challenging to sit and eat comfortably. The lack of adequate cooling or ventilation made it a less-than-ideal environment for dining. It would greatly enhance the dining experience if the establishment invests in improved air conditioning or outdoor seating options that provide shade and a cooler atmosphere.

I believe that creating a comfortable and inviting ambience is crucial for customers to fully enjoy their meals. It would be beneficial for the management to consider addressing these concerns to ensure a more pleasant experience, especially during warmer months.

Despite the ambience concern, I must emphasize that the quality of the food was consistently good. The presentation and flavors were on par with my expectations, and the staff members were attentive and friendly throughout my visit.

In summary, while the food quality stood out, I believe the establishment could improve the ambience, particularly during the summer season. We visited the hotel on 15th May 2022 around 04.30 p.m, thier staffs refused to allow us inside the a/c hall stating that the service will be resumed by 06.00 p.m only with no choice they made us to use the non a/c hall.

Then we requested for the corner tables since we were around 11 peaple ( family , relatives & kids ) and requested to utilize thier last corner tables hence we can sit together, initially one thier staffs said that the current guests seated at those tables are about to leave and asked us to wait for some time but suddenly another waitress came into picture and asked to be seated at wherever seats are available since those guests has not closed thier bills, with no choice we were forced to get seated in the scattered manner but to our surprise those entire corner tables were empty and clean within a couple of minutes when we got seated in different tables and that waitress who gave us a false information got vanished.

After we ourselves moved to corner tables, inspite of the waiter 's objection , the new waiter who got the food order details from previous waiter missed out one of the guest order and the guest was made to wait for another 15 mts to receive his food because of the communication gap between the writer's and all the above happened non peak hour.

When I had almost completely finished my food around 05.20 P.m , a mid aged couple and an old person came in a luxury sedan and they were allowed to access a/c hall immediately, they unlocked the hall and made preparations to serve thier food in the a/c hall .

Tasted real good!! Especially, all the side dishes. Had breakfast here @ 7 a.m. Three varieties of chutney, sambar and masala had superb taste! The dining hall of the restaurant was empty since it was 7AM on a working day, Tuesday. Having ordered ghee pongal and medhu vada, I didn't had to wait for a long time. The waiter brought the order in a minute. I should definitely mention about the medhu vada here as it was very nice- soft, smooth and had a wonderful taste. I really loved it and enjoyed having it. Pongal was okay and nothing to complain about it. They had kept three different varieties of chutney- coconut chutney, kara chutney and malli chutney along with two cups of hot sambar. Everything was fine. Before I finish this order, the waiter took the next order which was a good sign and brought the set of poori masala within minutes even before I completed the previous order. The masala they had kept for the poori was a WOW !! It tasted divine for me. And was wonderful to have along with getty chutney. It really was worth it..! Finally, I ordered a filter coffee and it was super hot and I felt the warmth in it. Coffee was also so nice and delicious.

Overall, pongal alone was okay and all the rest of the items were excellent for me. Cost wise, I felt a little high but the taste was too good, especially with the side dishes.
