Arya Bhavan (Cape Rd) — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

My parents live in Nagercoil and I never miss a chance of going to this restaurant whenever I go to my home.. First time, I was surprised to see their menu with all the Millet names.. each and every time I go there, I tried different kind of recipe.. Mostly Millet recipes only I have tried..

Breakfast and Lunch : Their breakfast and lunch are with bit usual recipes and the taste of the food is good always.. They have a very few Millet recipes for breakfast.. I have not seen more people coming there for breakfast.. Only tourists and new visitors who stay in hotels come there for breakfast.. But the hotel will be more and more crowded for lunch.. The meal will be a typical Nagercoil Style Banana Leaf lunch with more than 9 side dishes and 2 desserts.. My opinion is Breakfast and Lunch are good.. I don't have something special in healthy options..

Dinner: You can see the uniqueness of this restaurant in their Dinner.. They provide Dosas of all kind of Millets.. The list includes Varagu DosaKambu DosaChola DosaThinai DosaSamai DosaVaragu DosaRagi Dosa

Other Millet recipes are Varagu Idiyappam andSamai Pongal.. They also have Kambu Chapatiand Ragi Chapati.. Their another speciality isThakkali Dosa and Sorakkai Dosa.. As they serve these Dosas with 3 types of chutneys, sambar and idli podi, you can never stop having just a single dosa..

For those who do not have any opinion about Millets, this is a best restaurant of choice.. If you have the above said variety recipes from their hotel, you will never think that diet food is tasteless..

One thing you should never miss from the hotel is their Whole Wheat Paratha.. It is a super duper hit.. The parathas are flaky, soft inside and crispy outside.. I will bet you, you can never get something better than this in any other hotel..

I am writing to bring to your attention an unfortunate experience my family and I encountered at your esteemed restaurant in Nagercoil. Our visit was intended to enjoy a peaceful dining experience at one of the top vegetarian restaurants in the area. However, the service we received, particularly from your staff member Jeba Raj, left us disappointed and concerned about the standards being upheld by your team.

Upon ordering a ghee roast and soup, we were served the ghee roast first. When I politely pointed out to the service staff that the soup, generally considered an appetizer, should ideally be served before the main items, I was met with an unprofessional and dismissive response. Jeba Raj replied in an arrogant tone, saying, “I guess soup is for your wife and ghee roast is for me.” This response was not only inappropriate but also left us feeling disrespected.

As paying customers, we expect a certain level of courtesy and professionalism from the service team. A simple acknowledgment or a polite explanation regarding the serving order would have sufficed. Instead, Jeba Raj’s behavior felt dismissive and unwarranted, creating an uncomfortable dining environment.

I chose to bring this to your attention because incidents like these could tarnish the reputation Arya Bhavan has established over the years. It would be disheartening for the restaurant’s legacy to be eroded by instances of impolite behavior from the staff. I hope you will consider addressing this matter with Jeba Raj and providing guidance on customer service etiquette.

Very very worst , I went last week to coimbatore and tasted Nagercoil Aryabhavan which is newly opened in coimbatore, no way to explain more crowd and taste is very topnotch, Even though my native place is Nagercoil I loved the service and food in coimbatore with the same wibe I came in Nagercoil Aryabhavan opposite to bustand , really really worst food and service, service peoples are only working for tips, and food is really worst, I asked kambu dosa, if there is not there you peoples can say it's not in our hotel, they gaved me normal dosa with some cashews topping😤😤😤, and I ordered chettinadpanner dosa there is no panner stuffed in the dosa, I asked to the service man he said they will drizzle the panner😡😡😡, with a laugh😡😡😡...

Please change the food styles, if coimbatore peoples come and try with the same hype they will laugh about...
