Experience at the hotel was horrible! First off, it was super hot outside and we went into the AC room expecting it to be a lot cooler. However, we went in only to be met with a wave of heat, and my family and I felt like it would have been much better to sit outside than walk into that hotel. The AC was not turned on, supposedly to lower the spread of COVID-19. I appreciate the precautions taken, but looks like the owner of the hotel didn't do enough research. Reputable organizations across the world have posted this about the use of air conditioning during the pandemic: "There is no evidence that proves that SARS-CoV-2 spreads from the air coming out of air conditioning systems."
Air conditioning is one thing, but now let's get to the food. My mom wanted to come to this hotel for the huge, crispy cone dosas that she saw the previous day. We all settle down in the hotel, and boom! The waiter says no dosas will be served for lunch. Then, my family's second option was naan and paneer butter masala. Boom! The waiter says that won't be served for lunch either. Then what do you want me to eat? Do you want me to come to this hotel and go home after eating one gulab jamun? So we ended up ordering 2 meals, a kothu parotta, and 2 chilli parottas. For the meals, the servers were extremely disorganized and gave the appalam near the end of the meal. Both of my grandmothers could not cherish the appalam as they ate rice. Next, the kothu parotta: it seemed like they put 2 pounds of sugar in it, and I feel like I have diabetes now. The street food kothu parotta tastes much better, and this hotels doesn't deserve the reputation they have. And please don't get me started on how bad the chilli parottas were.
We had bought one bottle of Bisleri mineral water and finished around half of the bottle. We mentioned to the server cleaning at the end that we want to take the bottle home to finish the rest, and he acknowledged it. He then proceeded to clean the rest of our table, and he touched the water bottle with the dirty hands, which were full of squished Paneer 65.
Warning to anyone who wants to go to this restaurant: DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT FOR LUNCH!!! Breakfast or dinner might provide for a better experience, but be aware...
Read moreThis brand is going to die, if they are not going to improve their service and food taste. This used to be our go to place whenever we came by this area. But now the biggest let down is their poor service. Today we ordered parotta and chola poori. The cost is rising like the temperature during the summers. Not at all justified for what they provide. 100₹ for 2 pieces of parotta? Are you kidding me? That too the kurma provided for the parotta didn't taste good at all. It is dominating by the taste of ginger garlic. We gave the feedback then and there. The waiter brought a new set of gravies which was even bad. Tasted like vatha kulambu. We didn't like to waste the food. So we managed to complete it. Chola poori and the channa was good. We asked for extra gravy and they were like wasn't it enough? Man! The attitude. As if we are asking for their property. The service used to be really good. But now they are in the pitfalls. They will drag their brand along with this attitude. They think that they are the monopoly in the premium veg restaurant in the town. But there will always be someone who can provide better value and taste than you people. Those days are not too far. Hoping to see some change in the customer service and taste. Chola poori was 160₹. Again overpriced, but I am not complaining as it was good. Please be vigilant before visiting this place. Read moreEverything about my experience with Arya Bhavan Court Road has been excelelnt. Be it the smartly dressed staff with tilaks or the affable gentleman at the counter or the person taking our orders or the person serving us the delicacies that kept coming from the kitchen! I was there for breakfast and dinner on 2 days and enjoyed everything. The coffee at AryaBhavan is out of the world - just the right amount of creamy, nutty taste and sugar made it a heavenly experience. So much, after one night of being badgered with coffee on the train, i had to have another cup of coffee for this piece of heaven! Coffee is served in really cute brass cups..nice touch! Unique thing about ordering an idli vada was there was 2 sambars, sesame chutney and three different kinds of chutney (coconut, onion and mint chutney)...eating idli vada was never so much pleasure! The ambience is great and everything in the restaurant has a touch of newness to it. On the second day, we woke up at 615AM and headed for a cuppa coffee half expecting the place to be closed - surprise, it was open for business and they were making coffee. Oddly, the server brought us a cup of boiled peanuts and we questioned why - we were told that morning walkers who dropped for their first cup preferred the peanuts. Nice going Arya Bhavan, cannot wait to visit if I am traveling down south again....
