Bungalow Medu — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Highly disappointing experience. Was fooled by a few positive reviews. The lady staff was not warm or welcoming and seemed totally clueless about service. She couldn’t answer any of our queries . She kept saying she doesn’t know anything . The man who was serving was wearing a dirty shirt which was visually off putting . There is a single unisex restroom for the entire restaurant which is a total inconvenience especially for women . There is no separate handwash so u have to enter the restroom to wash your hands after a meal . U will have to wait for a long time just to wash your hands in case other people are using the restroom as there is only one ( imagine the heights of inconvenience) The seating is a hard cement platform( similar to railway stations or roadside bustops )with just 1 inch cushions which is extremely uncomfortable to sit on for more than 5 minutes. 6.We were told it would take 20 minutes for the food to be served as it was being prepared from scratch . But instead it took nearly an hour for the food and when we asked the lady staff why was there such a huge delay , she had no answer . 7.The food was just about average . The chicken burger and omelette arrived with no salt . The chicken fried rice came with no chilli vinegar and when we asked the staff for it , they brought us cooking vinegar instead . The ambience is very basic and average with no proper facilities . It looks like a small house turned into a restaurant type . Obviously they have no idea about the hospitality line . There are way better restaurants with a great ambience, quality,service and great food on the same road. The average tasting foods are priced very high which in no way justifies the taste , quality , service ,ambience or infrastructure of the restaurant .They can’t charge near 5 star hotel rates when they most certainly don’t live up to those high standards.It’s a total waste of money . The cafe section had a sickening rotten fungus smell . The pastries looked absolutely stale and dried up . There is a mosquito infestation and u will be chewed up by mosquitoes as you eat your meal . There are too many things wrong with the bungalow medu restaurant .Will never go back to this horrible restaurant nor recommend...

My unfortunate experience at Bungalow Medu left me thoroughly dissatisfied. The dining area was marred by an annoying mosquito infestation, creating a constant battle during the meal. The restroom situation was equally inconvenient, with just one for both genders, leading to unnecessary delays.

The staff at Bungalow Medu were disappointingly clueless, exacerbating the overall lack of professionalism. The agonizingly long wait times for food only intensified the frustration, and when the dishes finally arrived, the exorbitant prices seemed unjustifiable given the subpar quality.

Adding to the disappointment, we were inexplicably asked to go to the cafe ourselves to choose a dessert, only to find that the staff there were equally clueless about the selection. The cafe itself was uncomfortably hot due to sunlight, and to make matters worse, there was no one present to take our order.

The inconsistency in food flavors was yet another letdown – some dishes were excessively spicy, while others were painfully bland. The absence of a GST bill further raised concerns about the restaurant's transparency and adherence to regulations.

While the chicken steak managed to salvage a semblance of decency, everything else fell into the realm of sub-average. Overall, Bungalow Medu proved to be a disappointment across the board, from the irritating mosquito situation and unimpressive facilities to the lackluster food quality and questionable service practices. I personally didn't like the experience with kalki although we went there after my friends suggestion who had been there once. Luckily we went in group and inspite of their boring service we spent time on our own. Ambience was just ok. It was spacious that's it. Food tastes were also just ok. Prices were high and not worth it. We were waiting for table to be cleaned and they did not even inform us once it's ready. We had to find it ourselves. Also one of our last dish spaghetti, they themselves decided they can't do it because it was already too late to be served and after we asked for it they said it will take more time we are yet to start on it, so can we cancel it?. Also, every dish that we ordered came very late. I was totally disappointed by their service. I guess there were only two people to serve and cooks might be less since it was new year eve, and that's why it would have taken lot of time. In that case they must have taken some actions proactively and not disappoint ppl with their service. Hope they consider this as constructive feedback and work on this.
