CIBO Fine Dining in Thanjavur is truly a hidden gem for food lovers. Located near the old bus stand, it offers a unique rooftop dining experience with a stunning view of the bustling city and the illuminated Big Temple at night—a sight that adds charm to your meal.

The menu is diverse, catering to both continental and traditional tastes. I personally tried the lasagna, chicken fried rice, and noodles, all of which were exceptional in flavor and presentation. The creamy crunchy chicken, Thai chicken curry rice, and chicken steak with mushroom sauce were also delightful, leaving a lasting impression. For non-vegetarians, the Gulabi Kabab—a chicken stuffed with mutton—is a must-try, while vegetarians can enjoy delicious options like Kung Pao Paneer and Thai Veg Tempura.

The ambiance at CIBO is perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a romantic date, a casual hangout with friends, or a family celebration. The lighting and decor create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff are incredibly courteous and attentive, making you feel right at home. Despite being busy on weekends, the service is efficient and thoughtful, though the restaurant could benefit from having more staff on peak days.

An Underwhelming Experience:

As a food lover, I was excited to try out CIBO Fine Dining, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired.

The food was just okay. While some dishes had decent flavors, none of them stood out as exceptional or memorable. For a place that seemed promising, the culinary experience was quite underwhelming.

The waiting time after ordering was unreasonably long. To make matters worse, the starter was served after the main courses, which disrupted the flow of the meal and our dining experience.

Several basic amenities were overlooked. There were no glasses provided to drink water. Additionally, the washroom lacked essential supplies, such as tissue paper, which was quite inconvenient.

For international travelers, be aware that this restaurant does not accept international cards. This created a significant hassle, and we had to scramble to find an alternative...

The Chicken Tandoori was decent but nothing exceptional. The Gulaabi Kebab, a mix of chicken and mutton and marked as a chef's special, felt overpriced at ₹340 and didn’t quite live up to the hype.

On the positive side, the Chilli Chicken Gravy with Butter Garlic Rice and the Cibo Grilled Chicken with Mushroom Sauce were quite good, with generous rice portions. However, the Stir-Fried Chicken in Hot Pot with Oyster Sauce was disappointingly served on a regular glass plate instead of a hot pot, which took away from the presentation.

The Pad Thai Noodles (rice stick) had great flavor, but were oily and had a rubbery texture, which affected the overall experience.
