Sahana Vegetarian Restaurant — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

We came to this holy town on a weekend and below is our review.

Restaurant / Food: The complimentary breakfast was okay. The lunch is good but the dinner was bad. The service inside the restaurant was really good. The servers especially Ms.Saranya did an amazing job taking care of us. The food quality was not bad in general but the lemon soda they gave us did give us a sore throat. If you are planning on getting coffee early for you to get ready to visit the holy places around, then you can’t get it before 7AM. This may sound picky but when you pay so much, all you expect is a coffee early and now that there has been a collective experience every small thing makes a difference.

Stay: Rooms were subpar. Sheets were dirty under the pillows. Bathrooms were connected with adjacent vent rooms’ bathrooms and did smell bad all the time. No hot water in one of our rooms. Food in buffet breakfast was good , when we had dinner , Food was not great.. roti were very hard and uncooked Curry was too spicy and not of great taste. The service was very slow and wait time was half n hour. They were understaffed due to some function in the hotel and to even get a glass of water we needed to keep calling the staff several times Even while people were still eating , the staff started clearing tables and acting hurriedly which was very uncomfortable and we need to leave the premise even without finishing Food as though they were chasing us

Very neat and clean hotel. Food is also good. Hotel staff is very friendly. The location of hotel is it's USP. It is just next to the Thanjavur old bus stand. It is just 10mins from Thanjavur big temple (Brihadeeswara Temple), and around 15 mins from Thanjavur palace. It is 5 mins from Bangaru Kamakshi amman temple. Autos are easily available. Ola is also easily accessible. Rooms are spacious, toilets are clean and overall AC worked perfect. The layout of the hotel is wonderful which allows a vintage look to the hotel.
