We visited the new outlet of Coffee Trotter in Kotturpuram and loved it!
Nestled in a residential area and surrounded by old trees, it is a cute cafe with very RELAXING VIBES.
Ambience:
Coffee Trotter has a wood-based decor with different shades of brown and it's very appealing to the eye. Place plays mostly slow jazz / deep bass music which reminds you of entering one of the age old bars on Brigade road in Bengaluru. Seating is limited but spread out with small alcoves available for a little privacy.
F&B offerings:
It has a very limited menu of just 2 pages but it's great. I strongly believe cafes ought to have a limited menu which they can master. Both the Cold brew Iced coffee and Cappuccino were great with a lovely coffee roast flavour which bordered on a bit bitter (the way coffee should be). The cold beverage was served with a spherical ice cube which is an excellent touch and prevents the drink from getting too watery. *Tip: Try the Iced Cafe late with Milk. It's layered and is a VISUAL TREAT. Fresh Scone was excellent with the slightly burnt butter taste coming through beautifully. Croissant was not very good.
Service: Super sweet staff. Met us on arrival, seated us and asked for feedback as well. Our server drew a small smiley face on the Cappuccino which was a great touch.
Overall it's a great place for coffee. But don't expect a meal here. One can sit for hours here just reading a book and...
Read moreI stumbled upon Coffee Trotters in Kotturpuram, and I'm so glad I did! This quaint coffee shop is a treasure trove of flavors, ambiance, and warmth. 👍🏽
As soon as I stepped in, I was struck by the distinct East Asian vibe that permeates every corner of the cafe. The decor, the jazz music, and even the aroma of freshly brewed coffee all come together to transport you to a different world. 🌏
But what truly sets Coffee Trotters apart is their incredible coffee. The flavors were rich and nuanced, with just the right balance of acidity and sweetness. ☕️
The ambiance is equally impressive, with plenty of natural light, cozy nooks, and beautiful artwork adorning the walls. But what really made my experience special was the friendly staff. They were warm, welcoming, and happy to chat about everything from coffee to travel.
Overall, Coffee Trotters is a must-visit for any coffee lover in Chennai. It's a hidden gem that's sure to delight your senses and leave you feeling cozy and...
Read moreFirst visit to Coffee Trotter in Kotturpuram and at first glance, it’s an absolute charmer. A small, cosy nook tucked into the city, perfect for quiet coffee moments. The only tiny hiccup, Street parking a bit of a hunt, especially on Sundays.
The menu is limited, especially for us manual brew nerds (no pour over, AeroPress, or siphon in sight 🥲), but what they do offer, they do well.
The Macchiato is Spot on. A bold shot of espresso gently softened with just a milk foam the kind of drink that makes sense only on a rainy day.
And the chocolate pound cake… warm, soft, rich, with those melty chocolate chip bits on top it didn’t just taste good, it felt good. Like something you close your eyes to enjoy.
A space with soul, and coffee that’s crafted, not rushed. Will definitely...
