Dakshin restaurant at GRT Regency, Kanchipuram has always been a favourite in the family, since 2006. We look forward to celebrating our small family get togethers there.

Similarly, we went to have a relaxed lunch there on the 13th August, 2025 too.

All the staff members at the restaurant were very helpful with a smile and took good care of us.

A special word about Chef Ganesh, under whose supervision, some amazing and real yummy food was churned out and served. Each and every item made us drool and became memorable.

The ambience is good and we had a relaxed, enjoyable and tasty lunch at Dakshin. We shall continue to visit the place and have no hesitation to recommend the same to other patrons.

Except breakfast the lunch and dinner was not good at all my experiences The veg palao was just white rice and raw vegetables with some fried onions on top. Vegetables were as good as raw. The rice in curd rice was mashed or was put in a blender. It was rice paste and curd. The curries for roti were bland with no taste. The piping hot curries were served in plastic bowls please serve them in steel containers. The dal fry was cooked using moong dal and that too with half cooked dal. I felt the palak paneer was not cooked using palak and it seemed it had some food color. 7.Dosa was not at all good and the prices are very high for these kind of food.

Dakshin a well maintained place with serene ambience and gives you the taste of home at affordable rates. Managers are well educated and good at handling customers with good etiquettes and they act in a very professional way. One Mr.Murugan reserves the table by call and shows his respect and treats with proper decorum , also gets the food in our desired configuration by request. Food gets delivered in shorter time if requested . Buffet menu for the lunch holds great set of dishes with wide spread options. Must go place and recommended when we visit Kanchipuram.
