Dindigul Thalappakatti Ramapuram — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Even when the hotel industry is struggling in this pandemic, when people started showing interest in dining in the restaurant as a part of Unlock 4.0 if the staff behaves this way I don't know how this industry is gone survive. Coming to the incident, I with my friends thought of dining in at the dindigul thalapakkati, ramapuram this day (05th September 2020) around 6.40 pm and we enquired about the dining in prior reaching the restaurant and we were informed its open for dining. So we reached the restaurant at 6.50pm and as soon as we entered the receptionist said that "its going to be 7 pm we have to close by 8pm so cannot dine in " when I informed her we called restaurant 5min back and we were informed we could dine in then she said ok and asked us to move in. We sat in the table without even getting attended by anyone for about 10min. Then one server came and told that they have food ready but they don't have plates/leaf to serve it and it would take 30min for them to arrange plate / leaf and asked us if we are still interested in dine in as they have to close at 8pm. From his behaviour it was clear that he doesn't want us to dine in over there. Eventhough we were ready to wait for half an hour but his not interested kind of behaviour we were not ready to waste any more time over there and we came out of restaurant by 7.10pm. While leaving we asked the receptionist if you were not even have the plates for dine in why you asked us to come. Then she said it won't take 30min, the plates will be ready in 10min. When enquired about the statement made by the server regarding waiting time of 30min they both started being in a dilemma. Since we made up our mind we came out of the restaurant wasting 20min.

Horrendous experience. We go to a restaurant like this expecting at least decent quality food being served, but we couldn't be more wrong.

We as a family went to Dinner here on Thursday. There was this Parotta and Dosa festival happening. We ordered Chicken Biryani, Chicken Lollypop, Kodaikanal Chicken Gravy, Pepper Chicken and a couple of soft drinks.

Chicken Biryani was as usual great and we liked the Chicken lollypop too. But the Kodaikanal Chicken Gravy is bland and I wouldn't recommend it. Everything was going decently at this point, but next came the shocker.

We were served the Black Pepper Chicken as our last item. One bite in to the dish and both myself and my wife were about to vomit our whole gut. I have never tasted anything like that. Chicken was already spoiled and tasted like rotten fish, we immediately informed our server about the same and asked them to taste the food.

They took the food back to the kitchen and came back after few mins acknowledging that something went wrong and they always keep the fresh stock which we refused to believe.

Only good part about this is that they apologised for this and never tried to defend it. I later received the feedback call from them and I provided the same information. Hope they will fix this in the future. But for us though, it was safe to say our evening was spoiled even after...

Have been there few times when they initially opened and since then have been ordering through Swiggy and Zomato. Their quantity seems to be fluctuating. You can't decide based on the last quantity of food you received. Some days, the biriyani is tightly packed and some days it's loosely packed. Also they follow the same technique in larger quantity combo's as well.

Still ordering here as I like their barbecue varieties and black pepper chicken. Unlike other places, they use lot of real black pepper in pepper barbecue and black pepper chicken.

Moreover, if you go there in person, the security will not be there to help with parking as most people park the vehicles per their preference. Their parking space is also less and mostly full. This is the primary reason for me to resort to online ordering. They have more number of tables and space inside but proportionately less space for parking. People leave their cars on the opposite side or on the roads hindering traffic. Nowadays thats reduced due to ongoing metro work. Edit: I see the same response to all reviews from the restaurant management. Hope they really read and improve...
