Madurai Sri Muniyandi Vilas — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

I recently visited Muniyandi Vilas Hotel for lunch and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. Here's a detailed breakdown:

Food Quality:

Kuska (₹100): Extremely average. The flavor was bland, and it lacked the authenticity you'd expect from a well-known restaurant. I wouldn't recommend trying the kuska or their biryani.

Parotta & Salna (₹15): The parotta was just about average, but the salna was disappointing—watery, tasteless, and far from what a good side should be.

Boti (₹120): The taste was okay, but I couldn’t finish the dish.

Omelette: This was basic, nothing special but also not a deal breaker.

Ambience & Cleanliness: The entrance to the hotel was unhygienic, and unfortunately, this extended to the general cleanliness and hygiene practices within the establishment. The staff seemed indifferent, with unhygienic behavior being noticeable. Given the number of people dining, it was surprising to see that the cleanliness was not maintained, which is a big concern for me.

Service: The service was okay, but again, hygiene issues overshadowed everything else. There didn’t seem to be any proper measures for cleanliness, which left a bad impression.

Bought Meals during peak lunch time, no basic sides were provided like appalam, pickle, nor sambar & rasam. Not even salt was given for buttermilk. Poor service.

Mutton Chukka was an attempt at Mutton Chettinad, but the worse part is the cork-y mutton pieces, which weren't edible. Had to discard 80% of the "Mutton Chukka".

We found this place on a random google search but ended up very happy. Since it was chettinad we went for almost all dishes in the hotel. Kari dosa, parotta mutton boti, chicken and list goes on .. Ambience is a very average one .. but the rates are justified for the taste and quality..i hope they give the same service even if they dont improve their ambience.. some joints improve their ambience and loose their taste.
