Pastry Kadai — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

This place is not worth the hype… at all. I drove down there, found they don’t have the one day in Bangkok and they don’t even have a dining area - it’s a kitchen + front office. I did try their almond mocha, which was really good, but I wouldn’t pay 510 for it again. I also tried their vintage chocolate tub which was very very average.

This place truly confuses me. They have tubs, cakes and biscuits I guess, but there’s nothing on display… no try it sized products. A lot of their products are just chocolate based, and the menu is on some food delivery platform called thrivenow, (means no Zomato and Swiggy, but you could dunzo it I guess, or you could have your driver pick it up at that) which has atrocious delivery fees despite the high order value. It will perhaps remain on of those premium bakeries, with some premium clientele.

I recently placed an order for their Almond Mocha Tub and have been a customer since last year, always enjoying their cakes. However, this didn’t meet the standards for the overwhelming price charged for such a small quantity.

The taste was extremely sweet, with no clear distinction between the different components—just sugar. It lacked the depth and flavor, and the aftertaste was unpleasant. We ended up having to throw it away, which was really disappointing and felt like a waste of money.

I’m unsure if there have been any recent changes to the recipes, but I sincerely hope you reconsider the sugar content. A more balanced flavor profile would make it feel like a truly wholesome dessert, rather than just a sugary treat leaving a...

To everyone, please don’t be afraid of their « google Street view » and order their sweets or else you will be missing such nice and delicacy sweets and cake. As for me, i have ordered the box of sweets as shown in the picture, the cake itself are not dry but fluffy and toppings are tasty and lot of flavor are available. I have also ordered their cookie dip which I did not take any photo because it did not survive the trip (1h30 one way) to home but I will gladly go back to Pastry Kadai to take another cookie dip as it was sooooooo delicious, for all chocolate and cookie lover.
