Yesterday being Tuesday from Adyar via airport road drove to Anna Nagar Balamurugan temple. A 70 year old temple located near 18th main road inside a small lane. A huge tree covers the temple so identifying the exact location is a bit tough. A medium size praharam welcomed me. First on the left is Raja Ganapathy followed by Sri Balamurugan. Inbetween is located Medha Dakshinamoorthy. Rounding the praharam you spot Naga Kanni at the end followed by Sri Dakshinamoorthy, Sri Dhanvantri Narayanar, Sri Narthana pillaiyar, Navagrahas with their consorts and Sri Sudharsanar. Sri Vedavalli Amman and Sri Bhairavar with His consort Bhairavi is seen. The priest said not much history about this temple is known, but was built and today is flocked by devotees. Read moreHaving been hughly recommended by our Sister we had the fortune to visit n have darshan of Lord Balamurugan on the day of " Vidayathi Urchavam" Day. Located at Thendral colony, Anna Nagar closer to Nadamuni Theatre and Metro. Parking could be a challenge especially on festive days. Not so clean surrounds🥹
Obviously temple was very crowded being an event day, with Unjal seva and Annadhaanam etc.,

The presiding deity is BalaMurugan and there are sannidhis of Lakshmi Narayan, Vinayagar, Iyyappan, Visvanathar and Visalakshi. Apart from these there are Vallalar and Shirdi Saibaba statues.
