Tried this restaurant for the first time and here is my feedback.
Nice location. Ambience not good. They have tried to create a traditional ambience which is good but did not score marks. When we entered the restaurant no one was there to welcome us. There were few tables in the open garden but it was fully occupied. So we didn't know where else the tables were available. Upstairs were few tables. We went there but no one was there and the lighting was dull and dim in the upstairs. So we didn't know whether they wud serve upstairs and so again I walked downstairs and confirmed with them and the good thing is they do serve upstairs. The menu is very complicated. They need to create a compact and catchy names. For e.g. how is it to order "poondu thokku dosai made of rice". There was one north indian family behind our table who were having tough time with the menu. We tasted the below: A. Kalyana murungai soup = Good. B. Paal katti melagu varuval = Very good. C. Poondu thokku dosai = Good. D. Paal katti dosai = Not good. The batter was raw and not cooked. E. Kambu poori = Good. F. Nannaari sarbath = Very good. G. Ven thaamarai (White Lotus) sarbath = good. To me the food is costly. For the above mentioned items it costed me 904 bucks. Service was good and the staffs were polite. Some of the items mentioned in the menu were not available. Not a very happening place. Just occupied to the capacity and very calm and subtle environment. Parking is good.
Overall in my opinion: Traditional 'n' a bit tasty food at a costly price in a subtle environment with a...

First thanks for saving us from the commercial don't care (has a deep meaning in various parts like quality food, good oil, tastemakers, service etc,.) restaurants. This place is a Heaven. I have been to many top notch restaurants in chennai... But, end of the day you know its not going to give you any health benefit. what I personally feel is that this place is so calm and has the nature's connection to it. this place has got the total organic food culture that is so essential, healthy and a must for your system in these ages currently chennai's food scenario.
The food tastes so good and natural without any artificial tastemakers or powders etc., (we should not forget the north side sulphuric acid claimed to be panner lol.. ) The water they supply here is vetti ver mixed which is so good and has much health benefits. they have many authentic varieties too. If you are so much into health and wanted to taste the south's spices at its best then this place is a real deal!!!
The place is themed to be a small village actually where things really seem to be a village as the name is... I loved this phrase at the wall, பாரம்பரியம் என்பது பழமை அல்ல அது நம் பெருமை.
Service is humble and satish excels it. pls keep the good job going.I highly recommend for childrens, senior citizens!!!
Definitely a goto place!!!!...
Read moreAfter seeing this restaurant in a TV channel we decided to give a try.
It is located conveniently in Anna nagar Chennai. A pure vegetarian restaurant with traditional tamilnadu food as their concept. Also they decor the restaurant with scrapes which gives unique look.
It's purely for Tamil people as most food has the ingredients is of tamilnadu which the new generation doesn't know anything about and the older ones have forgotten.
Other state or non tamil speaking people will enjoy too. Menu in Tamil language. But the waiters have good knowledge on food.
We went for lunch. We had lots of unique foods which won't be available in any standard restaurant.
Special mention to Our waiter/captain Ms. Sharmila. She has great knowledge in her job and very attentive. Knows how to handle people. Awesome girl. Loves what she doing. Also Mr. Mani. Both went way beyond to make us happy. 6 of us.
We all loved her service.
Note to management. Both of them asset to your restaurant. Don't lose them.
From the start to end, everything was fantastic.
We loved each and every dish.
A must try for all who looking for difference in their daily food.
Note: They use home made oils, powders etc. They have a super market with all these ingredients and of all traditional food items. Give a try.
P.S....
