The Grand Sweets - Amirtham Food and Flavor: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Ambience & Parking: 3.5/5 Cost: Rs.450 inclusive of taxes for 3 people Location: Anna Nagar
This is one of my favorite destinations for lunch that has never failed to satisfy me. A complete and tasty lunch that is good for your heart, soul and wallet. Each and every item is right on target and gives you a complete homely food experience. Their lunch thali consists of, Chappathi & Side Dish Dal Poriyal & Fry(Gobi 65, Babycorn 65 etc..) Paruppu Thovayal Sambar Kara Kuzhumabu or Mor Kuzhambu Rasam Curd, Appalam & Sweet
The rice is limited and if we ask for more, they give us one cup of rice as complimentary, but they won’t provide additional rice for a fee. The fry, poriyal, sambar, rasam, kara kuzhumbu are unlimited though. The service is bit a slow, even when the hall is just half full. Have patience and time, and you will be rewarded with a good meal. The Mor Kuzhumbu is extra ordinary, with a rich & creamy consistency and tastes heavenly. They serve Kalkandu sadam as sweet on few days. I ended up with Horlick Mysore Pak on that day. But have tasted both. It’s a sweet house, so no doubt that it’s a delicious treat to finish the meal.
They also serve Tiffins & North indian items during the day. I have tasted many of them and am delighted as always with these guys.
On the whole, a budget friendly place that gives you a tasty & homely food that is close to a fine dining restaurant. This is about Grand Sweets Amirtham restaurants. They also have a sister chain, which I have...

Grand Sweets & Snacks in Anna Nagar has built a reputation for its traditional South Indian sweets, savories, and packed food items. While the quality remains consistent, one thing that stands out—unfortunately in a negative way—is the pricing.
Compared to other sweet shops, the prices here are on the higher side. A simple packet of mixture or murukku costs significantly more than local alternatives, and sweets like Mysore Pak, Badam Halwa, and Laddus are also quite expensive. Even basic items like sambar powder and podis are priced at a premium.
That said, the quality is undeniably good. The sweets are fresh, rich in taste, and prepared using high-quality ingredients. The snacks are crispy and flavorful, without excess oiliness. Their signature Badam Halwa and Ribbon Pakoda stand out in terms of taste.
The ambiance is clean, and the packaging is neat, making it a great place for gifting sweets and snacks. The service is decent, though the staff can sometimes be a bit slow during peak hours.
Overall, if budget is not a concern, Grand Sweets & Snacks is a reliable choice for premium South Indian snacks and sweets. However, for regular purchases, the high prices may make you...
Read moreHighly disappointed …Ever year we send sweets to relatives living abroad so this year we thought of ordering from grand sweets…we ordered more than 10 kgs of sweets n savory to USA. Being a more popular brand for sweets we preordered mysore pa, bhadhusha, kaju katli n savory. when we opened the pack after receiving.…mysore pa looked and tasted crappy…schooled they had packed with all side cut waste pieces. Pacifying my mind thinking Mysore pak is not their specialty compared to krishna sweets…it was hard n tasted rough unlike krishna mysore pak or even A2B. Another thing that i notices was the 1 kg that was not preordered n bought from store tasted little better than the preordered ones… not sure why same sweet with diffent taste n texture difference. On top bhadhusha was way way sweet less… bhadhusha is the least sweet of all the sweets but this was very sweet less. A very bad experience for such a good brand name.5out 5 for silver foil packing for international shipping. 5 out of 5 for Savories which we’re damn good. Kaju katli was best. Special ladoo got spoiled by the time it reached but this normally happens in any other sweet shop too that’s ok. On the whole a bad experience and will rethink of ordering in grand...
