Visited this wretched place called Saravana bhavan near Ahsoka pillar. It took 40 minutes to serve just 1 plate idli , some red liquid full of salt,( tastes like coloured sea water) which they call Tomato soup, 1 sambar vadai. The menu shows 3 idlis in one plate, but they serve only 2, If we didn't notice they would have charged us for 3 idlis.(making a profit of 33%) Again because we're stuck there and hungry we ordered 2 more plates of idlis. They took 15 minutes again. This time they were careful of numbers. We ordered a tea and hot badam milk. They served coffee, changed it after we pointed out. Another 20 minutes for this. Total for a 20-25 minute affair they wasted total 1 hour 15 minutes. How TN people tolerate this? Now coming to quality, Except for the Chutney, all other items they served were of very very poor quality, New tourists visiting Chennai DON'T TAKE THE RISK OF EATING POOR QUALITY FOOD. THEY CHARGE VERY HIGH PRICE. Waiters are not efficient ( may be UNDER PAID, OVERWORKED, TIRED OR NOT WELL TRAINED except for a few kind hardworking ladies and cleaners) I don't blame them. Better replace all male workers and appoint females( who work really hard under difficult conditions) Management is totally irresponsible, lacking promptness in customer service. THEY CALL THEMSELVES WORLDWIDE FOOD CHAIN? REALLY A WORLDWIDE JOKE. I know Saravana Bhavan is indifferent to any reviews, they will not improve. But the general public please wake up, avoid...
Read moreThis was my first experience with this branch and was extremely disappointed. First the service lady was extremely bad with her attitude, I saw her talking bad about a customer just because she didn't get a tip, second when we ordered a tea separately after completing our order she told that we should have told this order along with the order. Who is she to tell that. Third we ordered gobi manchurian along with chappati. They delivered only chappati and when we called and asked then they said that it will take time, if you want you can cancel. Shouldn't they have told when giving the order. Fourth its extremely costly, one ghee roast costs Rs166 which is atrocious. I could eat far better and tasty food for lesser price in many other place. I dont know how people are still coming. And the last is that there was a family right behind us who ordered soup, the lady said it was cold and soup should be served hot. We left the restaurant 20 mts after this incident still the soup was not served to them. It was the same lady who took our order , took order from the other family, such an attitude. Im never gonna come back here and will never recommend this place.
The old man handling the parking was really good, wanted by mention this despite all the...
Read moreNorth Indian meals was removed from the menu card. Took their own sweet time to deliver south Indian meals. Server offered if we wanted to have any side dish like paneer chops or Gobi chops, then said he could get fresh onion pakoda, then came 15 mins later that it wasn't available. I asked them for potato chips which was served 15mins later. I had to wait for the chips to arrive to have something decent to accompany the food. Served a green lentil sundal which was spoilt. They only serve a blant saltless dal for chapathi, i asked if I could get kurma, server offered hot stew in stead, which was also spoilt. I went for lunch at 2pm and I'm served spoilt food. I had to be really careful to not catch food poisoning from spoilt food items. Only good part was the small cup of ice cream served in the end. One south Indian meals costed 250/- and the quality is absolutely not worth more than 100 rupees. I'm never going back there again. We had 2 meals for 250 rupees each and 100grams potato chips costed 55 rupees. Total 555 rupees. Would strongly advise to not visit and save yourself money and health. HSB administration, if you are reading this, you've lost a customer who is never coming back. The quality has really gone...
