Hot Chips Veg Restaurant — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Located bang on the 100ft road, this restaurant offers both an A/C dine-in restaurant on the first floor and a quick self service area in the ground floor. Self service area is advisable for those who are on the run and wish to have a quick food on the go. Ambience is not so great. Amazed to see food getting ready in front of you in the open kitchen in no time. I've been here on few occasions for dinner at late night. Good that most of the items were still available at that time. Once, ordered chappathi and kurma. Chappathi was soft and perfectly cooked and tasted well with the accompanied kurma. They offer some combo items like roti/naan/phulka with paneer butter masala or veg. fried rice with Gobi Manchurian. Both the items are priced at Rs. 105, which is worthy for the price with right quantity. On another occasion, I tried the phulka with paneer butter masala combo which had four phulkas in it. Phulkas were soft, but, paneer butter masala was little bit sweet which was not to my likings. I love the chilli Parotta here, which had an excellent taste and was prepared to perfection. I mostly prefer to have dinner here because of the quick service. After placing the order the food will be ready in just 5 minutes. Major drawback is the lack of parking space and the environment is noisy because of the vehicles plying on...

We had a awful experience at their A/C restaurant which is on the 1st floor. The quality of food served was sooooooo poor and no match to even their ground floor restaurant... We had ordered some Soup, American Chopsy, Panneer Butter masala, Mushroom masala and Couple of Naans.. Both the gravy was not at all made well and it was almost in water consistency. The cheese naaan was another nightmare, they had just spread the raw cheese on a half made naan.. This time it proved us the chef is either not professional or was in a hurry to close the kitchen.. finally we has to order a parotta to satisfy our hunger which was made from the ground floor kitchen which is different from the one at 1st floor... Simply we all were disappointed as the quality has come down so far from what it used to be.. Nevertheless the server was friendly and understanding and was able to assist us in replacing the cheese naaan to an ordinary naan.. Wish to see them come back with...

The food is good but unfortunately they employ bunch of unprofessionals who don't serve you the food on time and make unnecessary waiting periods for customers. I gave the bill to the serving person and waited for 10 minutes to get my Dosa to eat and the person who takes order didn't even bother to serve my Dosa on time. I patiently waited and when I finally asked for the dosa, he is asking for the bill again! Definitely the most unprofessional experience I have ever seen at a restaurant. At last, I asked them to refund the amount and went to a nearby local restaurant to have Dosa. Hotchips USED to be good but i guess they are going to downs just like HSBs. RIP... I will never go to Hotchips in my lifetime and I request everybody else to spend their hard earned money on somewhere else where you get food on time and some respect...
