We narrowed down to Shaack restaurant for our Sunday brunch. Located at Anna Nagar, the restaurant was on first floor along with Fab India and Cotton World in the same building. On entering the restaurant, we found the ambience was really good with the fountain works on the glass wall.
We ordered Shrimp Chowder, Spicy Herb Crust Fish Nuggets, Mexican Meat Balls, Buffalo Wings and Hot and Crispy Beef for starters for four of us. Garlic bread was served while we waited for the dishes to be prepared. The restaurant took us by surprise on tasting the Shrimp Chowder. It was really cooked to perfection and really delicious. The Buffalo Wings was ok as the sauce was too sweet. The Fish Nuggets was cooked well and tasted excellent with the garlic sauce. The meat balls contained chicken and was really delicious. The Beef was crisp and little spicy and that too tasted fantastic.
For main course, we ordered The God Father from pizza section, Romano from Pasta section and Sirloin of Steak. The crust of the pizza was really thin and some parts of it were undercooked. However, the toppings were really great. The pasta has tasted delicious with the Parmesan cheese but the chicken in it was not tasting good. The Beef Steak cooked with pepper sauce and served with mashed potato was nothing unusual and was up to the mark.
The hospitality was really good and the orders were served in time. For four of us, the total bill amounted to Rs.2500/-. It was really worth it. A wonderful dining experience and has a place in my...
Read moreA fortnight ago, my friends and I went on a night out. At 2.30 a.m, we started to feel hunger pangs, so, we decided to eat something spicy to treat our taste buds. We then landed at the "Shaack Restaurant".
Ambience:
The restaurant is not clearly visible from the road. It is located on the first floor of "Lenskart" showroom. Initially, I was skeptical about the ambience. To my surprise, the restaurant is well decorated and cosy.
Food:
We planned to eat in the restaurant, but the hotel in-charge politely refused that they cannot serve food at mid-nights and the only option left out was to take away. I was snooping through the menu card and baffled by a plethora of items. They serve several cuisines. The average cost of each item is priced around Rs. 250.
After so much discussion among us, we finally concluded to order Chilli Beef, Chicken schezwan fried rice and Veg. Schezwan fried rice.
Taste:
After 30 minutes of wait, we received our food parcel. We fled to our car to gorge our food. It is not uncommon to find chilli beef in the city, but I was stunned by the crispiness and taste. Within a matter of minutes, we ransacked out food. In the middle, we gulped coke a few times to dislodge the food stuck in the throat and also to quench the thirst. All the dishes were impeccable.
You can also try good old "Goli Soda" which is revamped and branded by "Kozzmo".
Verdict:
Perfect place for delicious...

It pains to see once a very good restaurant going down the ruins. Keeping covid in mind, we were looking for some restaurant which would be less crowded. Shaack got remembered. Ordered some dishes like Minestrone soup, prawn pho, prawn Olivetti, Chicken Satay and Cajun potato wedges. Out of these only good items were Cajun potato and Prawn pho soup(however it had rice flat noodles instead of vermicelli). Other items were very bad to say the least. Satay was half cooked. We did not bother to order main dishes after this experience. The only good thing about today's experience is that social distancing was the best since we were the only ones seated out of 13 tables :D.
Reducing the stars to 2 ;(
Had ordered Cambodian fish, stir fry veg, Tom yum(it was great here, not many place serve it right), Veg pho, Kaisatay and Pesto pasta. They tasted very authentic and fantastic. One of the best Pan Asian food I have had in Chennai. It is worth the money and the ambience is good as well. The service is fast. Full marks...
