Silly craving for chilli parotta - A fairy tale
Usually I don't crave for any food but last couple of weeks, I was craving for Chilli Parotta.
It's more than 10 years since I had Chilli Parotta. To keep my sensitive tummy happy, I try my best to avoid spicy food. But this time I badly wanted to eat Chilli Parotta.
Everytime when I went to eat at a restaurant, due to my luck, Chilli Parotta was either not available or they didn't serve that dish. Back to back disappointments.
Yesterday, I was on my way to meet someone for official purposes and I stopped at a restaurant. It was around 3 in the afternoon and I was yet to have my lunch and I was super-duper hungry But by this time I lost hope of eating Chilli Parotta so I ordered a plate of Chapathi. It was served quickly and went swiftly into my stomach.
Then the battle of the heart, mind and stomach began.
Heart said, "Don't lose hope and go for Chilli Parotta". Mind gave its defense, "Don't get disappointed again". Stomach said, "Whatever..."
With a persistent heart and a resistant mind, I asked the waiter, "Can I get a plate of Chilli Parotta?"
Waiter replied, "Sorry sir, it will be served only after 5 pm :(".
Mind won. With a heavy heart, I said, "Please get me just a plate of plain Parotta". My hungry stomach was observing a 2 min silence.
After few minutes, the manager, who was overseeing the hospitality team, came over to my table. He said, "Sir, we are getting you a plate of Chilli Parotta"
My confused brain was trying to choose between the following words, "What!", "Why?", "Really?", "How?"...
Before I could utter the next word, the hospitality manager told me, "Sir, when the waiter told you that Chilli Parotta is available only after 5pm, the owner of the restaurant just passed by the table and overheard the conversation. He then informed us and the kitchen that a customer is requesting for Chilli Parotta and let's serve him that and we need not wait till 5pm. He also informed us that we can start serving Chilli Parotta from noon onwards starting today, if possible"
Then the dish came and my wishful craving for Chilly Parotta ended.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.

🍜Food Quality🍜 Excellent taste😋👅.Coconut🥥 and Tomato🍅 chutney. Coconut chutney🥥 was top1️⃣ class. I would say Vadacurry🥯 was not at its best. Sambar🥘 was good.
I ordered Masala Dosai🫓 and ghee Dosai🫓. Both were good. Little disappointed🙁 with Ghee roast. Ghee was only available in middle of the Dosai. In my native🏕️ they used put ghee all over full Dosai. Dosai size used to be very huge. You cannot eat more than one Dosai. I expected that here. But didn't get that. That's what city does to you🥸.
💸Payment💸 As usual Cash💵 and Card💳 both are available. Forgot to ask them about Sodexo card.
🚘Parking🚘. 10 bikes🏍️ can be parked in front of this hotel. No dedicated parking place available🤷♂️.
📦Parcel📦 Yes it is available😊. There are a dedicated seats available for people who are all waiting for the parcels. That's a good thing👌.
🧑🔧Service🧑🔧 They ask🗣️ you multiple times, anything else required. They get your orders faster. You will be well respected by them. You don't have to remember all you had. Still just verify your bill. They get bills and remaining changes to your seat. Don't worry about that.

Here Sambhar taste is different and not many would like it, especially north indian crowd is very much used to a very popular hotel in Purasaiwalkam, and it's Sambhar is most Welcome,
However, the three varieties of chutneys they serve are awesome,
Plain dosa served here is too big, very dry and mostly half burnt in the middle and half baked in the corner, very few masters get this right, whose fault ?~ owners ?? Or Chef,'s is any body's guess! Probably the chef would like to name it a Diet Dosa sans Oil,

Today 15/12/2024, Once again today Sambhar was very bad, it was more like meals Sambhar rather than Tiffen Sambhar, moreover, its consistency was watery with too many green chillies, & carrots, the bowl had more than 50% of these ,
today's Sambhar was not like usual Balajee bhavan Sambhar at all, not sure why they spoiled the Quality of Sambhar, hope they do not repeat this...
