Sree Ariya Bhavan – A Legacy of Authentic Vegetarian Taste in Kumbakonam Sree Ariya Bhavan in Kumbakonam is one of the city's iconic vegetarian restaurants with a legacy that spans over 100 years. Though officially established in 1964, the culinary tradition and recipes they follow are deeply rooted in heritage and authenticity, making it a true gem for food lovers. We had the chance to try various dishes, and every single item was delicious, fresh, and full of authentic South Indian flavor. From soft idlis and crispy dosas to their perfectly spiced rice varieties and wholesome chapathis, the taste speaks for the experience they've gained over generations. The restaurant is clean, well-maintained, and provides a comfortable dining atmosphere. Staff members are courteous, and service is prompt even during peak hours. If you're looking for a place that serves traditional, hygienic, and consistently tasty vegetarian food, this is a highly recommended stop in Kumbakonam. Whether you’re a tourist or local, Sree Ariya Bhavan offers not just a meal but a slice of culinary history. A must-visit spot that continues to maintain its legacy with pride and quality. But it’s costly!!!

After reading a lot about this restaurant on trip advisor, decided to visit this place on my last day at tanjavore. Order : garlic naan, paneer butter Masala, parota curry, paneer pulao, onion dosa, coffee The garlic naan (1) and paneer butter Masala (2 small bowls) were part of a combo meal; the garlic naan had small pieces of garlic embedded which was different from the regular variant where small pieces of garlic are spread on the bread; the large pieces had a slightly more over powering effect which was not to my liking. The paneer butter Masala was good though, although a bit more on the 'Masala side'. Overall I would recommend the plain naan combo. The onion dosa served with 4 kinds of chutney and sambar was good; lots of onion and specially made authentic chutney including mint and coconut. The paneer pulao was slightly sweet , with generous serving of paneer. A quality dish To finish off, parota curry (2 coin parotas) served with Channa curry and sagu; not too heavy and just enough to fill the remaining space in the belly.

One of the best veg meals I had recently. I was on a road trip with my friends and we reached Thanjavur to visit the temple. I searched for best veg restaurant and found this. The place was fully crowded and gave us an indication that food will be good. We got a table after waiting for 10 mins. First we ordered one Pot Dum Parotta as we saw a lot of people ordered it. It was prepared using multiple parottas layered with some veg gravy in a clay pot and cooked in a tandoori. It tasted ok, but we didn’t eat much as we wanted to try their famous Divyam meal. In this meal, first we got one chilled mint drink and one soup. Both were amazing. Then they served the meal in a big plate which had almost 20 bowls with various dishes. They served one roti, papad and unlimited rice. It tasted so well, but none of us were able to complete all the dishes. They charged Rs.360 each for this meal which was ok for the quality, taste and the ambience.

As a devoted vegetarian, I am always on the lookout for new dining spots that cater to my dietary choices without compromising on taste. My culinary journey led me to discover this hidden gem, and I am ecstatic to share my wonderful experience!

From the moment I stepped inside, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff, and the vibrant atmosphere immediately made me feel at home. The interior design exudes a blend of modernity and tranquility, creating the perfect ambiance for a delightful meal.

Now, let's talk about the food - absolute perfection! The menu boasts an impressive array of vegetarian dishes that cater to all palates. Whether you're a die-hard vegan, a health-conscious eater, or simply someone looking to explore vegetarian options, they got you covered. Their chefs are undoubtedly culinary artists, as each dish was a harmonious marriage of flavors, textures, and colors.

I started with their mouthwatering appetizers, and the flavors just kept getting better from there. The main course options were extensive, offering a range of cuisines from around the world. I couldn't resist trying their signature dish, and it did not disappoint - an explosion of taste that left me wanting more. The freshness and quality of the ingredients were evident in every bite, and they even sourced some organic produce locally, which is a big plus in my book. The attention to detail in presentation was commendable, making each plate a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds.

The service was top-notch, with the staff always attentive and ready to offer helpful suggestions. They were knowledgeable about the menu and could accommodate dietary preferences with ease.

In addition to the food, the restaurant's commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices impressed me. They use eco-friendly packaging and strive to minimize food wastage, further adding to the appeal of this fantastic establishment. Overall, my dining experience was beyond exceptional. I left feeling satisfied, nourished, and grateful for the delightful journey my taste buds had embarked on. Whether you're a vegetarian, vegan, or just someone looking to explore new gastronomic delights, I wholeheartedly recommend giving a visit. It's a true testament to the fact that vegetarian cuisine can be both nutritious and incredibly flavorful.

Thank you for redefining vegetarian dining and for providing a haven for us herbivores. You have earned yourself a loyal customer, and I'll definitely be back for more of your...

Dear [Hotel/Restaurant Management],

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide feedback on my recent dining experience at your establishment in Tanjore.

On a positive note, I must commend the kitchen for the delicious food. The taste was exceptional, and it truly added to the overall dining experience.

However, I regret to inform you that the service and respect received from the staff left much to be desired. As a customer, I believe that good service is an integral part of any dining experience, and regrettably, my experience fell short in this regard.

One of the notable incidents occurred during the collection of a parcel. Unfortunately, the parcel fell from my hands as I was leaving, resulting in a significant inconvenience. Despite this, there was a lack of assistance or acknowledgment from the staff, which was disappointing.

Furthermore, I observed a disparity in the level of attention given to foreign clients compared to Indian middle-class clients. It is disheartening to note that there was a noticeable difference in responsiveness when interacting with the staff. All customers, regardless of their background, should be treated with equal respect and courtesy.

I would also like to highlight an instance during the billing process. The request for the debit card PIN was made in a manner that could be perceived as unprofessional. A simple and polite request, such as "Can you please enter your PIN?" would have been more appropriate and customer-friendly.

I believe that constructive feedback is crucial for improvement, and I hope you take my comments in that spirit. Your establishment undoubtedly caters to a diverse clientele, and it is essential to ensure that every customer feels valued and respected.

I trust that you will address these concerns promptly and consider them seriously. Upholding a high standard of service is not only a matter of professional etiquette but also crucial for customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Thank you for your attention to...

Our first time in thanjavur and at this ‘big name’ restaurant as well. We picked this place as we drove around the town on a busy Saturday evening, mainly because this place had designated parking. The place was pretty crowded and noisy (not great ambience for us). Hungry customers all around waiting for their tables. As we were a small party of three people we got our table immediately as we walked in. Menu was confusing (in the name of creativity) as you would find at any big name restaurants - killing the authenticity of the local cuisine in the name of fusion (confusion). We ordered dishes that couldn’t go wrong though - thattu idly, idiyappam, kothu parotta - pretty average in taste and quality and obviously over priced. We came across some ridiculous yet interesting specials for the day - ‘mandi parotta’ i.e. 6 parottas in a fancy earthen pot / pan with fusion of curries for an eye popping 800 rupees!!! And the annoying sizzling platter bells ringing as they bring out a small platter of usual starters. My message to crowd if you have excess money to spend go spend in a soulful experience rather than restaurants like this. My message to the kitchen and the management - there are ways to uphold authenticity of the cuisine while being creative, right now your restaurant is not doing that. I liked that this restaurant employs so many people however allocate your human resource elsewhere and not let your inefficiency and greed reflect in customer bills - which doesn’t reflect real value of...
