AFLAATOON Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Thane

On the occasion of the New Year celebration, my family and I went to Aflaatoon. We ordered chicken Manchow soup, surmai thali, malai tikka and kheka thali.

Unfortunately the experience was quite disappointing. The quantity of food was adequate but the taste was underwhelming. None of the dishes had sufficient salt. The Manchow soup lacked the characteristic flavor of a Chinese dish. The surmai thali was the biggest letdown the fish was not fresh and lacked flavor. The malai tikka was overcooked and dry. In the crab thali the crab was undercooked and difficult to break and even after breaking it remained uncooked.

Even the beverages were a disappointment. The water bottle and Thumbs Up drink were not chilled served at almost room temperature.

Overall we felt that our money was wasted and our celebration was spoiled. We honestly expected better especially since we had been told the restaurant serves authentic Malvani cuisine. As a native of Kokan and a seafood lover I can confidently say that the cook likely wasn't Maharashtrian let alone Kokani as the owner claimed.

We shared our feedback with the owner but she was dismissive and refused to acknowledge the issues. It was concerning that all the dishes were subpar a single misstep is understandable but not such widespread deficiencies.

As the daughter of hoteliers I find this kind of service unacceptable. It is customary to not charge or offer a discount when customers are dissatisfied but in this case they took the full bill without even a gesture of apology. We left with unfinished food and empty stomachs and the experience left a negative impression.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve the restaurant's standards. Customers deserve better especially on special occasions now people will say there must be rush on new that’s why you get this experience but I wanna tell you surprisingly there was only two tables was booked rest...

Aflaatoon a small cafe which is opened up recently at Ghantali Road. They have an upper seating which can accommodate 10-15 people max. Below near the entrance they have a small bakery kinda place where you can place order for baking cakes for some special occasion and also buy some props and stuff. They believe in preparing food as per the order and give a home like feeling which can be safe and good. Coming to what I had: Mango Mastani: A thick mango shake with a dollop of mango icecream garnished with pistas. Trust me it was amazing. Paan Delight: I am so glad to have opt for this drink. At first sip it will taste like that paan chocolate (A red coloured toffee which tastes like paan) then they have a layer where they have grinded paan and saunf which again adds on more flavour to the drink. I recommend y'all to try this. Fiery Cheese Pasta: It was pretty spicy and had a orange coloured sauce. I expected the sauce to be more cheesy coz penne tastes good when its cheesy. So this one was not as expected. Mumbai Chaat Pizza: A whole new definition of chaat as toppings over the pizza. They freshly make the dough so plus point and as its toppings it had Meetha chutney, potato, crushed puri, sev, finely chopped coriander and mozzarella. This was fantastic altogether. Must Try. Coffee With Chocolate Truffle Brownie: They freshly make brownies so again a plus point. I really like the essence of coffee in every bite i'd had. Brownie so soft and tasted wonderful. Sizzling Brownie With Icecream: Again a freshly made brownie sizzled up chocolate and a dollop of vanilla.

A good and decent place. Despite of having a small cafe I like that they freshly prepare everything. Very light...

Aflaatoon is located in Thane and is setup for mostly cater to the young crowd. They have healthy shakes, milkshakes, mocktails and coffees. They also have sandwiches, Pastas, Pizzas, garlic breads and desserts. The owner is more inclined towards making cakes and sweets. They were originally catering to only vegetarian food but have recently started serving Non veg as well. They also plan to revise the prices and lower it to suit the need of the customer. The team is very much open to feedback.

I ordered: Strawberry punch: Frankly I didnt like it. it was more of ice and lime with no flavour of strawberry. The lime over powered the punch and hence it surpassed the flavour or the strawberry. if you still wish to opt for this make sure to inform the server to add less ice.

Special Aflatoon Shake: The costliest shake with some healthy fruit ingredients, fresh cream and ice cream. The price is a little on the heavier side but they plan to do reduce it. MUST TRY. (Dont try if you are looking for sweetness)

Peri Peri Chicken pizza: I loved the pizza. Stuffed with good portion of shredded chicken, Peri Peri Flavours and vegges. Must try as it is cheesy as well. Can make one person full if you opt for 9inch.

Junglee Sandwich: Heavy if you opt for the Large size. Its a 2 layer sandwich one stuffed with veg and the second with non veg. worth a try.

Walnut brownie: Brownie topped with Walnuts and surrounded by chocolate sauce. I should have opted for ice crean as well.
