Shiv Sagar Veg Restaurant: Great Food, Questionable Ethics
Shiv Sagar Veg Restaurant, located near Little World Mall in Kharghar, offers delicious vegetarian cuisine in a casual setting. The food is the highlight of the experience, with flavorful dishes and generous portions. However, a major drawback is the restaurant's practice of charging GST on bottled water, which raises ethical concerns.
Positives:
Delicious food: The menu features a wide variety of vegetarian options, including North Indian, South Indian, and Chinese dishes. The flavors are rich and authentic, and the ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
Generous portions: The portions are large enough to satisfy most appetites, making it a good value for money.
Casual atmosphere: The restaurant has a simple and relaxed atmosphere, making it ideal for a casual meal with friends or family.
Negatives:
GST on water: The restaurant charges GST on bottled water, which is an unethical practice. This essentially taxes a basic necessity, making it more expensive for customers.
Service can be slow: The service can be slow at times, especially when the restaurant is busy.
Overall:
While the food at Shiv Sagar Veg Restaurant is undeniably good, the practice of charging GST on water significantly detracts from the experience. This raises ethical concerns and leaves a negative impression on customers. If the restaurant were to address this issue, it would be a more recommendable option for those seeking a delicious and affordable vegetarian meal in Kharghar.

Read moreEarlier I had a different opinion about this restaurant. But now, it is completely changed after visiting this restaurant couple of times. The restaurant staff doesn't care about the hygiene and quality of the food getting served, also they don't care about the feedback customers give to them. I would like to share my two major worst experiences I had so far here.
I had ordered "Veg. Schezwan Fried Rice" and when the order was getting served, I saw the fried rice was looking like the "Khichdi" i.e. it was too watery. I did asked the management about this, they said, "We don't know what quality of fried rice gets served in other restaurants, but in our restaurant, we prepare fried rice like this only." They didn't even changed the food or waived off the cost of this order from the bill. I paid the entire bill amount and left the restaurant on that day.
On another day, I had ordered "Mendu Wada Sambhar", when the order came, I started eating the food. At one point, I realised that some black carbon coloured thing was stuck on the food, I did asked the management about this, they said they will get it changed this time but I had lost my faith on their hygiene quality, thus I paid the bill and left the restaurant. They did waived of the cost of the faulty food this time from the bill.
Looking at these two experiences, I would suggest one to look for other good alternative restaurants if you also face similar kind of experience over here because at the end we can't compromise with our health...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant with my family for dinner, and it was by far one of the worst dining experiences we've had. We chose to sit in the AC section, but from the very start, things went downhill. We were made to wait for 10 minutes just for a menu card, which is unacceptable. After we finally received the menu, it took the manager another 10 minutes to take our order.
The food arrived after 15-20 minutes only after we reminded them multiple times. The staff, including the manager, seemed completely indifferent to the customers. The waiters were inattentive, and the manager kept disappearing, leaving us frustrated.
To top it all, when we asked for two extra pavs for the pav bhaji, they made us wait another 15-20 minutes, and to our shock, we were charged Rs. 60 for just two pavs! This is outrageously overpriced and reflects their sheer money-minded attitude.
When I complained to the manager about the slow service, he ignored me completely. The final blow was when we approached the owner with our concerns – he was extremely rude and dismissive. He didn't apologize or even acknowledge our complaint and simply said, "Okay" in a harsh tone.
This was our third bad experience at this restaurant, and it's clear that they do not care about their customers. The focus is solely on making money, without any effort to improve their service.
I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you're looking for a pleasant dining experience, avoid this place...
