Utterly & totally disappointed with this place, im on holiday with my family of 8 + 1 driver, we had just done prayers at UCHI PILLIYAR TEMPLE climbing up the inclined stairs of roughly 600 steps is what our driver told us, which I don’t believe cos I think it was actually more 😭😭😭, after the arduous stair climb we came back to our transport which was blocked by an inconsiderate driver parked right infront of us, another family was there and their car was blocked as well and they had been waiting for 30 mins, that had already made me very upset cos I really wanted to face off the driver, but we managed to call the number of the car on our right and when he came we managed to make a tight reverse out of the place but not before my driver removed the air of the last tire of that car 😂😂😂, then alas the ending, we decided to come here, and when we got our seating and started to place our order, the waiter said that there was no ice in the restaurant, it’s a Sunday afternoon and this restaurant says they don’t have ice cos they forgot to order ice🤦 🤦 🤦, to make matters worst, they didn’t even have refrigerated drinks!!!!!! Come on man, after that climb up that stairs you want me to drink a non cooled drink? that’s where I snapped, I told all of them let’s leave, I tapped the manager standing at the door, I did say sorry before I left cos he was understanding, so we got back in our transport and on the way back is when my aunt mentioned that one of the waitresses while we were leaving, had made a snide remark that “everyone’s eating without ice, why this family is special is it?” so I’m paying money and we tip as well, but I’m supposed to be monkey see monkey do, like the rest of the families and patrons there? That was the final nail in the coffin for this review, I wouldn’t write this review if not for that waitress’s comment, HENCE I DEFINITELY WILL NOT...
Read moreGood food. Not the first time for us to this branch. Service was great as always.
We reached the restaurant way past 3 pm. The staff were about to break for their lunchtime. Yet, they were courteous enough to welcome us, of course with a smile. I should particularly mention the hospitality of the waiter, Mr. Annamalai, who skipped his lunch to serve us. I have given 5* for his service. The food was good too. My kids loved the American chop suey, tandoori chicken, and dragon chicken. Unlike other places around Trichy, the dragon chicken was not too sweet, was mildly spicy and enjoyable. I enjoyed the country chicken soup, that was peppery with yummy nibble-size tender chicken pieces; it was a bowl of awesomeness. The briyani was good too, although we had ordered only plain briyani.
Card payment accepted. Valet parking available. Restaurant is clean. Restrooms...
Read moreAs a visitor to a new town, you want to experience as much as you can that is new and unavailable in your area. At first the idea was to go to another known franchise, but on this occassion, elected to go to Banana Leaf for its proximity to the hotel. Particularly since it was such a hot day! I entered to what was the beginning of service for the evening and while the restaurant mainly remained quiet - food was just about okay. I ordered a biryani and anjal fish fry. While the biryani was still edible, the fish fry lost its plot. Not real flavour in the batter and generally just deep fried beyond an acceptable level. All served on a banana leaf which was a nice touch considering the name of the restaurant. I would easily miss this if I was in the neighbourhood for next time. Truly...
