Thamboora Multicuisine Restaurant… Fort Station Road …
As you know , a few days ago , I spotted this place incidentally, and today got the opportunity to visit here …
When we entered here at around 0820 pm , there was no crowd … most of the tables were vacant … Ambiance was bright and brilliant….
Waiters were polite and were taking orders promptly … mostly they conversed in English with a choice of Hindi ..
There was a huge menu card ….👍🏻👍🏻
First we asked for Veg Hot and Sour soup … it was not available .. Instead we got Veg Manchow Soup … it tasted top class … ₹115 plus taxes … one of the most authentic soups that we have tasted in recent time …
Then we went for an item called Dum Panneer cheese Chilli kabab ( starter ) .. it came in a strange container covered by wheat dough … Those Panneer pieces were so soft .. but not spicy ..🌶️… sort of mild masala with cheese flavour .. it was really unique … loved it .. ₹259 plus taxes ….
Meanwhile Owner madam introduced herself and was taking feedback from the customers … When I asked whether she was the manager , she told she is the owner 👍🏻👍🏻.. Madam conversed in Tamil and said she belongs to trichy only 👍🏻👍?…She said she is in hotel industry for the past 8 years and they had been running their Salem branch of Thamboora Restaurant for the past two and half years .. We appreciated her efforts .. My wife was also discussing…Infact madam told their family is owning few more restaurants in Salem like Saravabhawan Restaurant, Kailash Parbath etc … we wished her all the best 👍🏻👍🏻 …
Then we received our main dish …Triple Veg Schezwan Fried Rice … It was too good … ( it was Recommended by the waiter today ) …. The noodles portion was too soft .. that masala taste and that manchurian side dish was too good … Honestly one of the best stuff I had in recent times … ₹239 ..
You know the crowd was catching up … I think it was almost 9 pm ..
Then we ordered for deserts ( Sizzling walnut Brownie ) … I was so surprised to see the sudden influx of huge crowd … unfortunately there was a delay of about 25 minutes , after which the Sizzler Browny reached us ( at around 0925 pm ) … that smoke attracted the attention of almost whole restaurant diner crowd .. we became instant heroes 😂👍.. it was for ₹188 plus taxes
We ordered a Dhal Kitchadi for take away … it was for ₹199 plus taxes .. I tasted a bit after reaching home ,, and it was very nice …
The service charges here is 5% and it is purely optional … they have displayed it in a big display cutting … I felt nice seeing it … today our total bill was ₹1100 including service charges … We paid by GPay ..
Though this is a bit expensive place , it was a nice...

Read moreWorst food I have had in a fine dining restaurant. I’m amazed that this place has lots of positive reviews. Being a large group we ordered lots of dishes. It felt as if the food was prepared by an amateur chef. It looked like the kitchen had white, red and green gravy bases and it was slightly altered based on the dish one would order. Soups were bad. Both crab and cream of mushroom soups. Butter garlic prawns had 7-8 miniature maida fried prawns mixed with same old white sauce we had for soup. This has to be the biggest lie one can do to a dish. I’ve had same dish 1000 times better in Goa. Chicken manchurian had raw pungent sauce. Honey chicken had some sauce and felt insipid. Cheese malai tandoori chicken was low on salt and poor in taste. Egg noodles was the decent dish of the order. Cheese fondue was again served with same white sauce we had for cream of mushroom soup. Mutton and chicken biriyanis were made Hyderabadi style. Both had same masala. And both tasted below average. Can’t call this a biriyani. Rotis were decent but the chettinad chicken and one other fancy named gravy had a full tandoori chicken. Both had same gravy base with alterations. Very poor. Service was pretty bad too. We waited for 10mins for someone to serve the biriyani. Only...
