Coffee Tea & Me — Restaurant in Tripura

Do you like the taste of lettuce from the microwave? Than this might just be the place for you! I don't, and I like good service to, which I did not experience in this place. We entered on a Sunday. It was quiet and we ordered cappuccino. Than we wanted to order food. First of all, most of the veg sandwiches where out of stock. Only thing available: Sandwich with cabbage and carrot. Not a very big issue, but a little annoying. My and my GF both went for the veg burger and one plate of French Fries. After checking the kitchen, we got some bad news again. Out of French Fries..... The waiter (the only English speaking one) did not seem to care much for his guests after getting the order. He was constantly hiding behind the desks, I assume watching some film on his phone. It took a long time before the burgers came. When I went to ask, they just arrived from the kitchen. But before bringing them to our table, they put the whole thing in a microwave. Including lettuce, tomato etc. I might not be from this area, but putting these kind of things in a microwave is nasty in any country. The other downside: The burger was EXTREMELY hot. Including the bun. Not eatable at all. The bun got moist, just as the burger did. Of course the waiter had no idea, since he was still watching his movie. When paying at the counter, I asked if they always put burgers in the MW. The answer is yes. So, if you like that, go for it. The cappuccino was good btw. Again I learned my lesson. Ordering something different than curry or chapati in India is a bad idea. And with staff that doesn't seem to care, it...

Somehow the place offers an elaborate menu on a booklet but when one orders anything from the booklet they somehow don't have the eatable available in their kitchen. I happened to order for a Veg Pasta but I ended up getting A Non Veg Pasta, however as I was decent enough to point out the error, the staff chuckled and claimed that they were right and I was wrong. I then requested them for a Veg pasta which according to the staff would be served to me in 15 minutes but I had not received it after 45 minutes inspire of reminding the stuff about my order. I got tired waiting for my order and when I asked for my Bill the Cashier ran out of change while I made the payment. The cashier was unapologetic and even lacked the Basic courtesies. This place could have been so much better for a place like Agartala but it fails on every count, be it Customer Service or the Menu. And to be frank I was at my Table in the Coffee Shop with just 'Coffee Tea and Me' as the cafe could not give me what I ordered and were geared up only to serve...

Cheated on mum's special day.

My experience has been terrible. Today we were celebrating my mother's birthday and ordered a 3kg white forest. What we ended getting was a ordinary cake with cream topping that you get on a regular roadside bakery. There you'd get this for 1.5k for 3kg. Here I paid a premium 4k, for what was sold as white forest!

When I expressed this does not look like white forest, the old man who sits at the counter (owner's father) told me this is how they make their white forests look. When you are going for a party last minute you don't want to get caught in arguments.

This was the worst experience ever in the town I grew up in. As I drove back after the event, I wondered why would someone do that. Perhaps because I asked the guy at the counter how long has this shop being in operation. Perhaps he thought here was a simpleton who we can loot....
