This was my first visit to Chatori Gali aka Khau Gali aka 1090 Chauraha Food Street. I visited with my 2 kids, wife, mom and dad. I found the place very mismanaged, however the food does taste great.
Things I enjoyed: I thoroughly enjoyed the Tandoori momos, achari and chatpati soya chaap, and anda roll. Pav bhaji and soda shikanji are completely passable - you can find these much better elsewhere in Lucknow. Tandoori Chai is just a marketing gimmick - it's pre-made cardamom tea served in a clay pot heated in a Tandoor. It tasted just like any other cardamom tea.
Basic problems: I didn't find any unique offerrings here but the place definitely needs some form of management. Parking is a hot mess. Pedestrians share the road with the cars and bikes. A number of bikes passed through the actual food street, with the full crowd, even when supposedly no vehicles are allowed. I understand COVID restrictions have been removed almost everywhere, but that shouldn't mean that we start to go back to being unhygienic. None of the food stall operators used gloves while handling the food and none had the plastic cap on their head. There was a total lack of any basic sanitation practices. Only saving grace was they had multiple trash bins next to stalls.
I feel this place has a lot of potential, but there needs to be some sort of management/supervision to bring order to the chaos that currently prevails here.
Final verdict: Overall, the food experience was good but don't know if I will visit again anytime soon. Once the novelty runs off, I don't think it has a lot of repeat value. But, yes you should most certainly visit this place at least once to decide for yourself. You won't be disappointed with the taste...
