My birthday experience at the Sky Bar, perched on the 16th floor of Renaissance Hotel in Lucknow, had its share of highs and lows. The panoramic view of the Gomti River from the open terrace was a definite highlight, but early access restrictions until 6 pm for non-hotel guests were a downside, especially on a special occasion.

What dampened the celebration was an interaction with the drink maestro, who also seemed to play the role of a gatekeeper. As a non-hotel customer, I expected a more accommodating approach. When I brought a cake from an external bakery, the response was less than gracious. I was advised, rather bluntly, that it's common sense for five-star hotels to offer cakes. This left me feeling unwelcome, and I would have appreciated a more considerate tone.

While the bar's ambiance is undeniably chic, the culinary experience fell short of the expected five-star standard. There's room for improvement in both the hospitality and the interaction with non-hotel patrons. They call themselves 5 star, but they are not worth 1 star. As soon as we entered they said we won't accept Zomato's offer on our drinks, so I argued and asked them to show the same thing in writing ( which they couldn't ) , hence they had to accept that because technically they were just trying to make a fool of the customer. Then moving on we ordered drinks and food, it took them 40 mins to serve the food that we ordered, and upon asking the reason for the delay, they said they prepare fresh , but upon tasting 2 out of 3 dishes were cold for some reason best known to them. There was no waiter available to attend my complaint Soni have to personally walk to tha main desk to tell them that their food was cold 🤣 And as usual manager has nothing else to say sorry, but sorry cnt be equivalent to spoiling someone's evening! Think twice before going to this place, or rather dnt go , because it seemed they didn't care whether someone liked their food and service or not....
