Read moreIf you find yourself in Lucknow and have a penchant for non-vegetarian delicacies, Raheem's Kulcha Mutton Nihari is an absolute must-try. This culinary gem is nestled in the bustling lanes of Chowk and has been serving gastronomes for decades.
As you approach Raheem’s, the tantalizing aroma of slow-cooked mutton and freshly baked kulchas beckons. The star of the show, the Mutton Nihari, is a symphony of flavors. The mutton is exquisitely tender, having been cooked to perfection over a low flame for hours. Each piece melts in your mouth, leaving behind a rich, savory taste that lingers delightfully. The gravy is thick, rich, and packed with a medley of spices that create a depth of flavor unmatched by any other dish. There’s a warmth and a hint of earthiness that only comes from a recipe perfected over generations.
Complementing the nihari are the kulchas. These are not your ordinary flatbreads. Raheem’s kulchas are soft, fluffy, and slightly charred, with a subtle smokiness from the tandoor. They serve as the perfect vessel to scoop up the luscious gravy and tender chunks of mutton.
What sets Raheem’s apart is the consistency and authenticity of the food. Each bite transports you to a time when culinary traditions were meticulously preserved. The ambiance, while modest, adds to the charm and authenticity of the experience.
In essence, Raheem’s Kulcha Mutton Nihari is not just a meal; it's an experience. It's a deep dive into the rich tapestry of Lucknawi cuisine, promising a feast that is both satisfying and unforgettable. If you're a lover of hearty, flavorful food, this is one gastronomic journey you cannot...
Read moreWent to this joint today with family. The so called Raheem"s Kulcha Nahari functions under grossly unhygienic conditions. Sat for a while wondering when someone is going to take our order. No one came for sometime, so I went to the washroom (a filthy one) got my self relieved, came out to wash my hands to find that the soap dispenser is breathing it's last, somehow managed to wash my hands. Went back to the table where my family was sitting, only to find no one was still there to take order. Finally a boy came for order, who while my order was halfway got into a leisurely communication with his colleague insisting that he may take the order. Their communication ended in a dead lock and both of them walked away. I was surprised by their behaviour wondering is this Rahim's Kulcha Nihari..... that YouTube is going gaga about. Eventually we made an exit from this place raising our concern to the person sitting at the counter who apathetically listened while handing over Rs 80 after deducting Rs 20 for a bottle of water we had consumed. My humble request to all those reading this review is please don't get influenced by these videos posted on you tube. The world is totally different when you are dining. Although I was very upset with the kind of behaviour I got to experience by both the owner and so called staff, as I was hungry, but later on I thought to my self what I did was what this joint was fit for....... to me it was nothing more than a...
