If you are from Lucknow and you didn't eat the sweets from Radheylal then you didn't eat any sweet thing from Lucknow. They have multiple branches in Lucknow and the quality is same across all branches. We can't name a few sweet names because they have a vast verity. But my personal love is Malai ke Paan and Gajar ka Halwa. They make all the sweets from Desi Ghee. Their oldest shop is in Chowk just adjacent to historical Gol Darwaja. My Personal recommendation is, if you are visiting Radhelal in chowk then must eat the Makhkhan from street vendors just in-front of Radheylal's shop. This Makhkhan is speciality of Lucknow. If you have space left in tummy after eating at Radhelay and Makhkhan then go for Milk of Makhkhan from same street vendors. You will find it the one of the best beverage. Radhelal also makes Chat ( Aaloo Tikki, Matar etc). They also taste great and you will find very hygienic environment their. Neat and Clean with great taste. Nice shop with a number of sweets to choose from. They also make fast-food like samosa, jalebi, khasta, dhokla etc. But I gave just 3 stars coz of following two reasons- They offer a variety of sweets but they all just look different! The taste is mostly the same. For instance all the 'Chena sweets' option are of different shapes, sizes and colours but what about the taste! All of them tastes just the same, no matter which one you pick. So there is lack of INNOVATION and flavours which I feel should be of prime importance in a sweets and fast food shop. Secondly I also feel that the prices are a bit high. Well I don't blame them for this, since all the popular sweets shops in Lucknow have tagged their prices very very HIGH and so do they. But paying extra money with no innovative flavours doesn't feel good. I bought the Kaju katli and pista roll and more of the kaju sweets but I didn't found anything which could fill my tastebuds with soft and wonderful flavours.

The shop serves only desi ghee sweets and snacks and that is why the prices are on the higher side. Not for every day purpose. The worst aspect is that the shop in Chowk area has a poor, unhygienic and clumsy surroundings. The shop ownner too does not seem to makes efforts to keep the area clean and attractive. When you sell premium products you have to take care of the place, services ans surroundings; no excuses for it. The shop might be selling good eatables and sweets but attracting customers particularly first time visitors or those coming from other metro cities is the biggest challenge. Take Delhi's Haldiram for instance. It presents an ambience where you are tempted to buy or eat. Radhey Lal, in my opinion, has an edge over Haldiram sweets when we compare the two but fails miserably when it comes to ambience. Also, there is no sitting arrangement.
