Kalika Hut is famous for its Ajamgarhi dishes. Heard lot about this restaurant from friends and read reviews over foodie community. Although i didn't like the ambience of previous Kalika Hut but this new branch is suited for everyone. This was a plus point and well done job by Kalika Hut staff for changing the look and feel from its previous one.

So i decided to visit the restaurant. Yesterday visited with my family as simple hangout. Ambience is great, clean and staff is very friendly, welcomed us and take us to our seats. Dinning table and seats are classy , well i can say it's decorative which enhance the beauty of the restaurant.

So now its time to check menu, btw this review based on vegetarian dishes, although this restaurant is famous for non-veg. dishes. After checking a while we have ordered Veg. Shami Kabab, Veg, Chowmein, Veg. Biryani, Roomali Roti'sand in dessert/sweet we ordered Gulab Jamun. After done with order now its time to wait. Love the response from staff, they greeted us with soft drink while we are waiting for our order arrive. That's what something good to see.

Okay, our first order arrive Veg. Shami Kabab with Roomali roti's. Presentation looks good. We have tried the kebab. It's so soft and so delicious truly rich Indian taste which deserve 4.5/5 the spices blend perfectly. One word for it's (Delicious), roomali roti's also soft and paper thin satisfied.

Now second order time Veg. Chowmein, Veg. Biryani & Gulab Jamun. Tasted the noodles its was ok, perfectly cooked and little bit spicy, some bits of paneer also added. Taste was good. Veg. Biryani also good in taste but it will be more tasty if they also serve it with Raita. Gulab Jamun is soft and yummy in taste.

Overall experience is great and satisfied with the food, staff and the ambience. Perfect place to hangout with family or...

Ambience & Location

Kalika Hut is located in a prime area of Vipulkhand, Gomti Nagar, which makes it easily accessible and ideal for family outings or casual dinners. The restaurant has pleasant,family-friendly ambience-spacious, neatly arranged, and comfortable even during late hours.

We visited around 10 p.m., and to our surprise, there was no waiting time despite the peak dinner hour. We were seated immediately, and the staff attended to us promptly. The overall setting felt relaxed and welcoming — perfect for a family dinner.

Food & Taste

For dinner, we ordered Fresh Lime Sodas, Butter Naan, Matar Paneer, and Chicken Handi (quarter).

The Fresh Lime Soda was excellent — perfectly balanced in salt and sugar, refreshing, and true to its name. The Butter Naans were freshly made, slightly crisp yet soft, and went beautifully with the main dishes. The Matar Paneer had soft, fresh paneer with a rich, flavorful gravy, while the Chicken Handi was equally delicious — tender chicken in a perfectly spiced, creamy gravy that offered an authentic Mughlai touch.

Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying, with each dish clearly prepared with care. It took around 10–15 minutes for everything to be served, which felt quite reasonable.

Service

The service was smooth and efficient. The staff was polite, attentive, and ensured that our food arrived on time. We didn’t face any unnecessary delays or confusion...

Generally I refrain from giving reviews, but this time I found it to review the restaurant. Very pathetic experience. I ordered mutton kebab, in which hair came out. The kebab was replaced, which came in the middle of main course. I ordered handi mutton, the so called signature dish of the restaurant, in which again a hair came out. After this I have no mood for food, though I was hungry. I also ordered steam rice, which was cold like it was made in morning. I came out empty stomach. There is no coordination in the service also. First they brought rice before roti. Rice was ordered after roti. 2-3 managers are roaming there of no use. I have also written feedback form, so that owner get the actual happenings around the restaurant. There was no sorry figure for what was happened like it used to happen everyday. First I will request everyone who wants to visit this place don’t go and after this also if anyone wants to go, please be careful while eating, because during writing this review I came across one review in which also the same things are mentioned, meaning they are not taking things...
