Read moreThere are only two cafés in Lucknow: one is Tramp Tree Café in Hazratganj, and the other is this new kid on the block: Peddlers Café. The locals may disagree, but if you come with a refined and uncompromising (snobbish?) café experience from a metropolitan like Delhi, then these are the only two places on your map.
Surrounded by pretentious pretenders like La Reine and Lucknow Diaries, this place is a gem with terrace seating for those comfy autumn and early spring months.
On the culinary side, the yoghurt infused smoothies were absolutely refreshing, I personally preferred the mint and cucumber smoothie. The food was quite fresh and succulent, the pizza and pasta were excellent. I'll admit the menu is geared to the locals' comfort in continental dining but the taste and presentation were top notch. Compared to the haphazard menu on Lucknow Diaries with only packed and canned items, and the stale food at La Reine, this place is a clear winner.
The indoor seating was comfy and lighting soothing, ideal for first and second dates.

I’ve also gotten some writing done here with friends, it’s a good study spot after classes, and a nice atmosphere for a cute dinner too. Overall, this place reminds me of the cafes near my undergrad university back home in America. But with chili paneer and veg kebabs and fresh lime soda on the menu—so, it’s even better than those...
