I'm from Mumbai and big fan of the South Indian food in Matunga. Definitely go to Madras cafe to have filter coffee and so I was excited to see one in Mussoorie. I went in there with low expectations and thinking it won't be budget friendly like in Mumbai, but I was wrong. The food is koy only affordable but so authentic in its taste. The franchise has carried the taste standards so seriously. Loved the tomato uttampam, masala dosa, the hot milk, filter coffee and the superb tangy sambhar and tasty coconut chutney. Definitely recommend this place if you're ever craving for authentic South Indian food in mussoorie. Also it's a win win for me cause I got Jain food here. The sambhar, chutney and uttapams are all jain pretty much like in...
Read moreI tried idli and filter coffee from this restaurant. I had filter coffee from the restaurant while waiting for my take away. I enquired for medu vada and they said it would take an hour. Usually medu vada is something you get at a restaurant 24*7. The filter coffee was bad, tastes nothing like the OG filter coffee. The idli was soft and chutnies were not bad. However the price of the idlis came out suprising, way overpriced. The lady I believe who owns the place is very grumpy, I think she was very sad to have me there. Read moreI have recently visited Cafe Madras and my overall experience was good. I ordered dosa, idli and dahi vada. All the three items were good in taste. They also offer Jain menu (without onion and garlic) which I ordered. Service is fast and pricing of the items is as expected from a shop on mall road.
I recommend this restaurant if you want to try south indian food in Mussoorie.
This restaurant is at the back entrance of the mall road (which is near to Landour). If you enter the mall road from kempty fall side then you need to cross the whole mall road to reach there. Although there are paddle and electric rickshaws to communicate from one...
