ONLY CASH PAYMENTS ARE ACCEPTED!

Nice little fast food joint inside the bustling paltan bazaar. Probably the only restaurant in the vicinity. You can visit here for veg chow mein and South Indian snacks like idlis/wadas/dosa after doing shopping in paltan bazaar. Prices are very extremely reasonable. The South Indian snacks are slightly at the spicier end and idli sambar is a usually preferred option in South Indian snacks as it's served very hot. It's not the best South Indian food you will ever eat, but a decent healthy option to try after you are tired due to shopping! Idli/vada comes dipped in sambar and chutney is separate, if you want sambar separate, pls inform at the time of placing order. Chow mein is available in full/half plate options. I visit this place every year since my childhood as this is an essential part of my vacations! My usual order here is idli sambar, full plate chow mein and Lassi. You can try the lassi only if you like it chilled, at a thinner consistency and less sweet. Badam milk is also a good option. Cold drinks are also available. Cold coffee is available on few days. Hot Tea or hot coffee not available. Service is good but slow as the place is usually crowded and it will take some time for you to find a seat and for a waiter to reach you to place your order. The payments are strictly cash only and no online payments are accepted. Payments are collected at the main counter, after finishing food. Bill is NOT bought at the table. I think more than food, people visit Lakshmi restaurant for its old days charm and nostalgia, so don't expect too much variety. The menu is fixed. You might end up sharing a table with strangers (due to the crowd), who are there to share either the same nostalgia or the same curiosity to understand all the hype...

This restaurant is pathetic like anything.firstly i got one hair in thandi rabri still i did not complain, after paying the bill he did not return my remaining balance and told me that he returned when i asked to check the CCTV camera he refused ...he was like i will not check it. At last i said take 150 rs more and n keep the 50 rs with urslf as a tip , Its not about 100 or 50 rs It is all about not cheating the customers but they disappointed us in next level.but they were doing एक तो चोरी उप्पर से सीना चोरी।

First edit :- Its appreciable to see the restraunt team's reply on my review . I visited restaurant on Thursday ie 4/02/21 between 17:30 to 18:30.total bill amount was arround 400 rs. i was accompanying my guest to show dehradun delicacy but above incident disappointed me. As team laxmi restaurant mentioned that they do not possess cctv ,May be thats the reason the...

Worst experience after 15 years. I had a very sweet memories of Laxmi restaurant since I was a kid and the taste I used to enjoy with my parents, but sadly to say coming after 15 years, I had a very disappointing experience. The Dosa which used to be usp of this restaurant was just below average, even a street vendor makes much better dosa with minimum price, Chole Bature was just useless, and on top of it they are giving cold drinks above MRP just giving excuses of Supreme Court orders, the owner says they need to give salaries to staff, how it will come, compelety disgusting. If you are food lover like me then believe me you will never come to this place again, you can get much better and cheaper dosa at Bindal chowk and Dwarka store, also we have numerous options for Chole Bature vendors in town with much better taste. Laxmi Restaurant has lost its charm and...

I recently visited Lakshmi Restaurant in Paltan Bazar, Dehradun, hoping to enjoy their best-selling masala dosa, but I was quite disappointed with my experience. The dosa was thick and bland, missing the light, crispy texture and tangy flavor that I was looking forward to, while the sambhar tasted like plain water with vegetables floating in it—completely lacking in spices and flavour. What made the experience worse was the lack of hygiene in the restaurant, which was surprising considering they charge a decent amount for their dishes. Cleanliness should be a given at such prices, but unfortunately, it fell short. Overall, the quality, taste, and hygiene did not justify the reputation or the price, and I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone hoping for authentic and satisfying South Indian food in Dehradun.

One of the oldest South India restaurants in dehradun where the interiors and furniture have not changed for ages, known for selling fast food items like dosa idli, vada, chomping, cholle bhature, coffee milk shake, cutlets but the taste seems to have seen a downward spiral. It was a regular feature for me as a kid as I love my masala dosa but the taste is not the same it used to be earlier and at Rs 85 I found it expensive but some might say that it's inflation, but had the taste been good I would not have minded paying the price for the same. Also they still accept cash only with no option of card or online payment. Would request the owner to look into the taste, rest things don't matter, please bring back my childhood nostalgia back!
