Nestled within the bustling heart of Cross Road Mall in Dehradun, Pataka Cafe emerges as a vibrant and welcoming haven. From the moment you step inside, a cheerful energy envelops you, promising a delightful culinary experience. Our recent visit treated us to a trio of their much-lauded dishes: the Butter Chicken, Butter Naan, and Fried Rice, and each plate sang its own delicious tune. The Butter Chicken arrived in a rich, sunset-hued gravy, its aroma alone a comforting embrace. The chicken pieces were succulent and tender, practically melting in the mouth. The sauce was a masterful blend of creamy sweetness and subtle spice, a classic rendition executed with finesse. It possessed that perfect velvety texture that begged to be mopped up with every last morsel. Speaking of which, the Butter Naan was an absolute revelation. Pillowy soft and generously brushed with glistening butter, each bite was an airy cloud of warmth. Its slight chewiness provided a wonderful contrast to the smooth butter chicken gravy, making for a truly satisfying pairing. This was naan done right – fragrant, flavorful, and utterly irresistible. Completing our delightful meal was the Fried Rice. Often an overlooked dish, Pataka's version was anything but ordinary. The grains were perfectly separated, each one carrying a subtle smokiness and infused with a medley of fresh vegetables. It wasn't overly oily, allowing the individual flavors of the ingredients to shine through. It served as a wonderful counterpoint to the richness of the butter chicken, offering a lighter, yet equally flavorful, element to the meal. Beyond the delectable food, the ambiance of Pataka Cafe was equally charming. The decor was lively and inviting, creating a space where one could comfortably linger over conversation and good food. The service was prompt and courteous, adding to the overall positive experience. Pataka Cafe in Cross Road Mall is more than just a place to eat; it's a spot to savor well-prepared comfort food in a cheerful setting. If you find yourself in Dehradun, craving a classic North Indian meal done exceptionally well, a visit to Pataka is an absolute must. Our experience with their Butter Chicken, Butter Naan, and Fried Rice was a testament to their commitment to flavour and quality – a truly pataka of a meal!

I recently visited Pataka Restaurant and had a mixed experience. The decor and ambience of the place are quite nice, making it a pleasant spot to dine. However, the overall experience left much to be desired. We ordered several dishes: the Chicken Kheema Pav was nice and tasty, and the Tawa Chicken with Butter Naan was also good. However, the Chole Bhature was quite average and nothing special. The most surprising part was that you have to order Bhature separately with Chole, which was unexpected and inconvenient. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn for the worse after we finished our meal. My daughter and I both started feeling uneasy and sick during later part of the evening. While the decor and some of the dishes were enjoyable, the overall experience was marred by the food-related discomfort we experienced. I hope the restaurant takes steps to ensure better food safety and quality in the future.

This place deserves a huge shoutout for serving Indian delicacies at nominal prices. The interiors give a plethora of traditional vibes with a hint of modernisation. They’ve got a good area to offer for large gatherings. Food here is impeccably good. Prices as I mentioned earlier are as good as they can ever get. From Tokri Chaat to mains they have got it all. Vada pav served here is a must try. They have worked really well on curation of dishes here. Cheesecake here has a layer of motichur laddoo instead of conventional cookie base. Tokri chaat, unlike the deep fried half sphere, is served in a tart. The drinks start at ₹100 and are refreshing. My overall experience at pataka was amazing and I can’t wait to visit here again.

My recent visit to this restaurant left me with mixed feelings. Upon entering, I was immediately drawn to a dish being served, prompting me to inquire about it from the manager. Unfortunately, instead of the warm and helpful response one would expect in the hospitality industry, the manager curtly directed me to the menu without a hint of smile or respect.

I was surprised to find that in this supposedly premium restaurant, customers are expected to place their own orders. This departure from the usual practice was puzzling, but what baffled me even more was the lack of communication from the staff. My mother and I sat there for quite some time, with the manager passing by us several times without informing us of the self-ordering process.

When I finally asked him to take our order, his response was marked by an unapologetic attitude and a distinct lack of respect or humility. I suggested that it would have been courteous for the restaurant to inform us about the self-ordering system, to which he retorted with a dismissive, “you didn’t ask me.” This type of customer service left me utterly bewildered.

Regrettably, the manager’s impolite behavior persisted, and we ultimately made the decision to leave the restaurant. In a premium dining establishment, one expects a level of service that matches the quality of the food, and sadly, this experience fell far short of those...

No doubt that they have a different menu but as i read the reviews from others same the way hs happnd wd me today at the restaurant. I have never heard any of the restaurants taking packaging charges, It was nt at all about 20 bucks but about the way that has been handled. The staff is very arrogant and rude, one of my friend asked thm to chnge the plate, which they denied doing that AAPKO ABHI AUR KHANA HAI NA TO CHANG KYU KRNA.. Imagine we paying for the services and food and were told this way. The staff is litterally unprofessional, rude and not at all humble. I took my 3 yrs old kid and askd for more butter for prantha and was told tht iske upar hai butter. I have nvr seen this kind of treatment in any of the restaurants. There were two girls, but one of them who had little prob in her eye, sorry as i dnt remember her name, was damn rude and arrogant. She was gvng rude expressions for gvng more butter. I would hav paid fr extra butter, but this kind of attitude is actually not acceptable in hospitality industry. I am myself a hospitality professional and nvr seen this. My only request for the owner is to either train the staff for basic ethics and calmness or to change them for better word of mouth.... Hoping to have gud welcome if i visit again

Best...
